Hey, ya'll! Isn't there an online test to see where you fit on the liberal-consevative scale? Anyone got a link?
It all comes down to "Dignity", there is no dignity in accepting handouts, providing the neccessary tools someone needs to provide for themselves restores their dignity
Welcome to FR! Hang around and be polite and you'll find that this is the best site on the Web. Love abounds here. We even love liberals. Pity them, but still love them. Use your spell check and God is capitalized. Be prepared for some tough moments ahead. If you are truly interested in learning and not posting from a banned IP, this should be fun and educational.
Good post
The first thing you have to do is break your mental connection between compassion and government action. One is not the same as the other.
The next thing is for you to actually read the Constitution. It's amazing the stuff that's in there. It's equally amazing the stuff that's not.
And you could increase your education by subscribing to the Federalist Patriot. http://federalistpatriot.us/subscribe/
Shirley you're knot series.
Some of us don't appreciate having our property siezed, at gunpoint, to be distributed at the whim of petty lords who are interested in nothing bu their own power.
I'm a product of public schools!
And stop calling me shirley!
Do you defend the right to life of unborn babies?
Do you defend the right to keep and bear arms?
Do you defend the right to freely exercise your religion?
Do you defend the right of a man to bear the fruits of his labors without the government taking half?
Are you lost, boy?
Actually, you're right... I'm half watching what I post. My mistake.
I don't wanna :O) Well okay if we must.
We've got some verrrry trigger-happy hombres in these parts. Don't tempt them.
My opinion is that government's only purpose is to protect our individual freedom and personal liberty. Anything else it does tends to infringe our liberties, no matter how noble the purpose.
Raising taxes to aid the needy is a fair example. It infringes our liberty by giving the state power to arbitrarily take an amount of funds of its choosing, by means of coercion, from one citizen to give to another, who falls within an arbitrary state supplied definition of poverty. Assuming that this action is actually beneficial, one can argue for it, assuming that the beneficial result justifies giving politicians and bureaucrats such power over our lives. Unfortunately, the reverse has proven to be true - welfare has actually increased poverty.
BTW, the Constitution does not authorize these kinds of actions by the central (federal) government.
Welcome aboard FR, though, glad to have you and hope you will stay around.
LOL,
Are you gonna respond, or are you fishing for negative comments?
I am also a strong beilever in god, in liberity and in freedom.
I don't understand the seperation between our parties, I honestly don't. I don't think republician's want death (I support a "just" war though), wants people to go hungry, wants intolerance (I think any true beilever in god would be againist this).
I can tell you for sure no liberals want these things. Yet somehow our parties always end up fighting. Why?
We don't want any of the things you mentioned above, you have been brainwashed by liberals to think that we do, (their normal way of doing business, just ask howard dean AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH) is Godless, wake up, we are the Christian Coalition. We are God fearing people, and worship Him, 70% of liberals don't go to church, so why put your faith in them? 50% of Conservatives do go to church and believe in GOD.
Liberals and most Democrats think America is the problem and the terrorist's issues should be considered and addressed.
Conservatives and most Republicans think terrorists should be nuked into charcoal briquettes and used for Sunday cookouts.
