AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1497) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 25, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 02/25/2005 4:31:26 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Pope's tracheotomy means that, without external aids, he will now be unable to speak.

Canada has refused to join America in building an anti-missile defense shield for the continent. In effect, this surrenders Canadian sovereignity to the United States with respect to their airspace--the chances that America would ignore a missile in flight over Canada is nil, despite protestations from Ottawa that Canada expects to be consulted regarding any violation of their airspace.

The Center for [Junk] Science in the Public Interest said the Federal Government has done little to regulate the amount of salt in food.

And, the Washington Pravda, in their continuing assualt on the Administration, took issue with Sec'y Rice's clothing selection as she visited the American army facility in Wiesbaden. The rag stated: "Rice boldly eschewed the typical fare chosen by powerful American women on the world stage. She was not wearing a bland suit with a loose-fitting skirt and short boxy jacket with a pair of sensible pumps. She did not cloak her power in photogenic hues, a feminine brooch and a non-threatening aesthetic. ... Rice's coat and boots speak of sex and power -- such a volatile combination, and one that in political circles rarely leads to anything but scandal. When looking at the image of Rice in Wiesbaden, the mind searches for ways to put it all into context. It turns to fiction, to caricature. To shadowy daydreams. Dominatrix! It is as though sex and power can only co-exist in a fantasy. When a woman combines them in the real world, stubborn stereotypes have her power devolving into a form that is purely sexual. [Excerpt--full story here]

“One member of the delegation, who didn’t realize who she was, and probably thinking she was some cleaning lady because it was after midnight, simply said to her, ‘Give us five minutes and please go away,’” recalled Albanian diplomat Dugagjin Gorani in War on Europe, a British TV program. Instead, Albright exploded in rage, swearing at the group, according to the reports.

“Mrs. Albright started using explicit language which the translators never could translate into Albanian,” says Veton Surroi, another member of the delegation.

If Condi Rice was a Democrat, the press would NEVER make fun of her clothing and lack of a brooch. That WaPo article was simply disgraceful. Racist and sexist, all rolled into one.

Between that and the Ward Churchill art forgery story, it's looking to be a very good day today.

And let's add to the list that Hillary was rebuked by Iraq's leading candidate for prime minister. hehehe

We have people coming to clean bedroom carpets today so I have to get moving.

Pope Breathing on Own; No Lung Infection

Pope John Paul (news - web sites) II is breathing on his own, but his doctors have advised him not to speak for a few days, the Vatican said Friday, a day after he was rushed to a hospital and underwent surgery to ease another breathing crisis.

Papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said the frail 84-year-old John Paul spent a restful night at Rome's Gemelli Polyclinic, where doctors said there was no sign the pope had a lung infection such as pneumonia.

Continued prayers for the Pope!

I'm with you, Guennie. I knew about her being mistaken for a maid but didn't realize she had gone into hissy fits about it. The part about them not being able to translate her words is hilarious.

Good Morning All.

In the days of yore, when the most brilliant women of the universe ruled the whitehouse, the dnc and presstitutes complained we conservatives were afraid of STRONG, POWERFUL women, remember? I seem to remember she dressed according to the times, her hair always looked clean and in place. Now the Republicans have a brilliant, beautiful and powerfull Sec. of State and she doesn't dress according to the dnc's idea of "well dressed", ahhh the shame of it. She sits with the troops with boots on...now that's powerful and sexy. Were those boots patent leather or plain leather? Inquiring minds want to know.
