Oh my, walking with one new lens is a trip!!
It will work out in a few hours.
Drat, I have to go back again, they goofed up and make the wrong lens for my computer glasses. It is measured 27 inches away from the computer, they made it for close up. Yikes, talk about owl eyes.
Texas songwriter and I thought it would be interesting to explore the thought process in poem writing. Such as, why was one word or phrase used over another.
Okay, open for suggestion and discussion.
The Dark Poem
A serious ox
once defrocked
of his wooden throne
took to tearing down
barns with cloven feet
and tearing down
barns with cloven feet...
Does Scripture tell
of cloven feet
holding up the beast?
The King of liars
and beguilers
reins in his realm
of hell...
And the damned souls
of men
cry from the pit...
agony they wail
moan, gnash
teeth on stone
and ash
lost souls in
hells kingdom

One thing for sure....I don't want to join the King of liars : )
I have no idea where this poem came from. It may have been a scene from a movie that was buried in my subconscious.. I really don't know.
It is always best to unleash the beast in your subconscious !
Good evening Ms. Feather. Your friendship poem is quite lovely and true.
We have a poetry project here! I have been away today, but I will ponder the beauty of how words connect. How inspiring!
Have a pleasant evening Ms. Feather!
I have never done this, but here goes...A line in your poem set me in a different direction. Here it is. I do not think I could improve your writing, by the way.
I take the caricature of Satan,...horns,cloven hooves,tail,beak,....and then snap into Biblical descriptions...I worry that some readers might not have the background to know this. Then I focus on the trees described in Genesis 3 and then in Revelation 22. Life...it begins as a seed in a garden in the thoughts of a man....and in the mind of God, he descended to us in a garden....then sin and out of a perfect garden,....and finally, redeemed, back in the garden and here, guarded and a Tree of Life,....now perfected. I knew I loved gardening so much for a reason.
Another oldie.
The Psalmist David
The Psalmist David, a shepherd he,
did play his harp at darkest night
for company...
Long lonely night under
cold starry skies
moved psalmist David to
sing the Psalms.
Rhymes of God did he sing
written down for the eons
to come...
Songs of comfort
of easing agony
of being human...
The burden it brings...
of lonely times within
ourselves
we cry out
to the skies
for proof we must have
...we are not alone.

I liken that chorus to your line....We cry out to the skies for proof we must have......Proof...Purposes,... very similar, but one a question, and one an acceptance.
I remember "Children Leaves," lovely song.
Does your computer "ping" or buzz when you are written to. Do you stay up all night and never sleep. Your responses are very quick. I am sitting looking at this one-eyed monster and it is 11:10...way past my bedtime. I'll sign off for now and check on you tomorrow. You need to rest also. Doctors orders.
Yes, I have the pager on and get pinged to all responses.
I sleep and I sleep a lot- at least 8-9 hours at a time.
Have a good rest and thank you for the wonderful night of poetry.
Yes, Sir I will obey!
Nite.

The Swing
by
Robert Lewis Stevenson
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside---
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown---
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
Good morning Sam!
WOW powerful poem. Fabulous graphic.
Great selection of tunes. You have covered the ground! LOL
Have a grand day and Thank You for giving so much to the Lair.
