Hooked on a Feeling - Blue Swede. `ooga chaga' This song is so bad, that its good. Its off the list.

Replace it with "The Pina Colada Song". Basically a bad Poconos nightclub song that made it big.

Worst song ever? "You're Having My Baby" - Sung by the Mormon Tabernacle choir (an episode on the TV show "WKRP")

I can't stand that song by Barry Manalow, "Cola Balunka", I think it was. "Lola?" Whatever. Half-blocked from the pained memories. Ar...rg!

I think you might mean: Copa, Copa Cabanna...The hottest spot North of Havanna...At the Copa, Copa Cabanna... Music and Passion were always in Fashion at the Copa...Copa Cabanna.
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl...

With apologies to Barry Manilow, Bruce Sussman and J. Feldman (listed as the writers on Lyrics Depot), I'll give it a shot (work with me here):

THE ORIGINAL
Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola
Still in the dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony
Now she's lost her mind!

THE FR THEME SONG VERSION
His name is Swimmer, he is a Senator
But the youngest son of Joe lost it many years ago,
Now it’s reality, but not for Swimmer
Still in the Massachusetts chair, red in face and white in hair
He sits there so imbibed, and drinks himself half-blind
He lost his youth and he lost his figure
Now he’s lost his mind!

Feel free to join in!

You're So Sweet"? Who sang that? I do not remember it.

I don't remember either. :) Thought it might rattle some memory sells out there.

I don't mind LedZep, I just HATE that one song with a passion!

Zep is probably my favorite band but I change the station when that tune comes on the radio. Waaaay overplayed. Same with "Freebird" and "Hotel California."

"Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, I Got Love In My Tummy." An authoritative source recently confirmed my long time suspicion that this is a song about an act of congress that Bill Clinton made famous!

"Oogie Oogie Wa Wa." It dates from the first half of the twentieth century. Dumb stuff didn't start in the sixties.

"White bird must fly or she will die..."

You ought to hear this one crooned by David Hasselhoff in the old Knight Rider episode "White Bird."

That Celine Dion song from Titanic. YUCK!!!

The song blows chunks, but she has a tremendous voice. It's like Streisand, sucky songs but what a voice.

You're so sweet, Horseflies keep hangin' round your face, Kentucky moonshine, could never take your place. Your two front teeth are missin', But that's all right for kissin'

I do believe that's "You're So Sweet" performed live by Neil Diamond on his "Hot August Night" album, utahguy.

The next line to the song is "You're as loyal as my dog, Sam, and twice as pretty!"

Jack.

Freddie was sadly very prescient with some of his songs. Think about his Highlander saddy "Who Wants to Live Forever." He penned some really great songs, though. This house is full of Queen fans.

"Freddie was sadly very prescient with some of his songs."

My grandparents frequented a metalurgist. She was amazingly accurate, able to 'read' the future if someone handed her a key chain. But then her readings 'went dark'. She said it always happens to a metalurgist. Sooner or later, your readings 'turn dark'. Then you have to give it up, she said.

It may have been New Age, she may have been a 'white witch', but it was black magic. Sad FReegards....

Me too!

I was answering a question in post 308. I still love Neil Diamond and IMO he is still as sexy now (he was in Omaha for a concert last year)as he was on that album. I was a teen when that album came out....
