"This is a Daughter" - Terri Schiavo (A thread to offer reflection and support)
self | March 31, 2005 | self

Posted on 03/31/2005 7:57:52 AM PST by Former Military Chick

A daughter is one of life's dearest gifts --
a blessing; from above . . .
She's laughter, warmth and feminine charm ..
she's thoughtfulness and love.
A daughter brings a special joy
that comes from deep inside.
And as she grows to womanhood
se fills your heart with pride.
The love she gives so freely
is rare and beautiful gift ...
She brings the sunshine right indoors
and gives your heart a life.
With every busy, happy year
she's dearer than before
Through every state . . . through every age
you love her even more.

~George Webster Douglas

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

A daughter sweetness
with gay, laughing eyes.
Hair ribbons, pinafores, lace,
A lovable lady
of charm and delight
With dirt on her dignified face
A daughter in no time
is suddenly grown . . .

. . . With a womanly air
and a mind of her own.
A daughter is pleasure . . .
a treasure to those
Who watch with such great pride
as their "little girl" grows.

~Susan W. Lee

Just before my father passed away he gave me this book all about daughters. It is touching and I chose to select a few that I felt were appropriate.

I hope other's were offer thoughts, poetry and the like.

REFLECTION PING

I was not sure how to do this, so I made it a vanity. I suppose in doing so it may get lost with all the other Terri threads.

I had recalled that my father gave me a book about Daughter's and there were a few I thought might be nice to start a thread of refection and support to all those involved.

Especially the parents, who should never have to out live their parents.

You are most welcome. I know things have been heated on FR but we can all agree, that her family and friends deserve our prayers.

We watch our nation fall.

The best memorial for Terri is that arms on Capitol Hill and in the White House are twisted to produce a "Terri's Law", which will ensure this will never happen again. This is no time for defeatism - the innocent blood spilled calls us to action, not to despair.

Regards, Ivan

We can fall if we get back up. I'm not in dispair just ashamed of where we are today!

Your father, perhaps, would have presented you a book in this case saying "This is a Murder". I'd like to mourn and condole, but the murderers are now loose and a present danger to us all.

I am glad you enjoyed it. All though I am here and my father passed I treasure his cards and tokens of his love for me.

I hope the parents of Terri will be able find something of Terri's and treasure it. She may not have fulfilled all her duties on this earth but I have no doubt she is looking down and I hope guiding us into a direction that for no better term to HEAL all those involved.

thank you for the thread, FMC. I hope that your kind thought in putting it up can be kept in mind, and that only positive and loving tributes will be made here.

I so admire the Schindler family for fighting for Terri to the very end. They will be able to face their Maker, who will welcome them, each in their time, into his loving arms to be rejoined with their beloved Terri.

How wonderful for her, in this life, to have been so loved by her family. God bless them all.
