The End of America: May 10, 2005
JPFO ^ | 11 May 2005

Posted on 05/15/2005 8:19:05 PM PDT by Free and Armed

On Tuesday, May 10, 2005, America became a true police state. Your U.S. senators voted -- unanimously, with no discussion, and without even reading the bill -- to create a national ID card.

The Real ID Act blackmails state governments into turning their drivers licenses into a draconian tool of the federal homeland security apparatus. If states refuse, their citizens lose such "privileges" as being allowed to board an airplane, enter a federal building, or apply for social security. President Bush is expected to sign the bill eagerly on Thursday.

In three years -- by May 2008 -- this Stalin-style internal passport will be an American reality. But your government will have more control over you than Stalin ever dreamed in his most violent, vicious, anti-freedom dreams. (See links to the text of the law and articles about it at the bottom of this article.)

But that's only the beginning.

The creator of the Real ID Act, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, smiles and tells us that his Real ID Act is all about "solving illegal immigration" or "preventing terrorists from entering the country." This is one of the biggest of the thousands of "Big Lies" we've heard from the tyrants in Washington. The Real ID Act is about tracking and controlling Americans. You. Me. Our children. Everybody.

In May 2008, barring a miracle, America as we once knew it will be in ruins. It will be gone. And the rights of gun owners will be among the first scheduled for destruction.

House leaders, realizing national ID would have been in trouble in the Senate, then added it to a must-pass military appropriations bill in a cynical ploy to make it almost impossible to fight national ID.

National ID is absurd. What difference does it make? They knew the identities of the 19 terrorist from September 11 just hours after the attack. So what? The feds can know our names and the names of our pets - how does that stop terrorist from strapping dynamite to their chest or ramming something into a building?

Well like it or not, looks like Bush is gonna bring it to life the same year he leaves office. I guess it's his "goodbye" present to us for putting him in power for eight years. Quite frankly I'm fed up with Bush for his massive spending, lack of action on the border, and now this. Come 2008 I'm probably going to leave the Republican Party and just vote for some useless third party. At this point I don't see how voting for either a Republican or Democrat in 2008 is going to make any difference, your only option is how fast do you want to descend into socialism?

It is not about the speed at which we are entering in to socialism. It is about the honesty about entering in to socialism.

With the Democrats you get a forthright, honest, in your face approach, ie "We are socialists. Deal with it."

With Republicans you get this insidious, evil, horrible attempt at deception. ie "We believe in Jesus. We don't really want you to kill babies. We don't really like fags. We want to kill some Muslims. We love America. etc etc etc." Yet, all the while they act as big govt, no child left behind, no border secured, nothin left untouched by govt, scum.

Elected Republicans suck worse than Democrats because they are not as honest as Democrats about their desires to run your life. Republican masses suck worse than Democrats because they are so g*d damned dumb they can not see this and leave, or change, the party.

Republicans prove their dumbness when they yap and wail in response to truth told bluntly like this. If they were brighter they would know political power comes one decision to not be a Republican at a time. Instead, in a sad, disgusting display of stupidity, and as a perfect example of abject cowardice, they stand in their "see no evil, hear no evil" monkey pose and claim "but, but I've got to vote with the party in order to win."

Of course, if I'm wrong then the answer is even worse. Perhaps, Republican rank and file simply can't tolerate a Free Republic living under the Rule of Law as set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Actually, I think it is as much the latter as anything. Basically, those of us that wish to live free just have to understand we are truly, totally, queer. Very, very, very, very, very few people in the United States actually desire the limited govt prescribed by our Founders.

Dont wait until 2008 vote straight libertarian in 2006 and cast a vote against a senator and congressman that voted for this orwellian p.o.s. bill that goes against almost every single one of the first ten amendments

You nailed it but most people here are in denial.

Bush is a huge government socialist...and everyone here seems to be distracted by the pretty fireworks he is making in Iraq.

I'm also looking at the Libertarian Party candidates more now. I voted Micheal Badnarik for President in 2004. It's too bad only 384,173 Americans voted for Badnarik as well.

It has become quite clear to me that the two party system is just trashing the Bill of Rights and Constitution.

Preferably not while I'm alive and kickin'! I'd love to be able to die naturally and not fighting a revolution when I'm really too old and not able enough to do this. But if do it I must.... ~sigh~

I agree. Also how is it also supposed to stop illegal immigration? It cannot.

The thing that makes me angry is how "RealID" completely ignores the point-of-entry issue regarding illegals.

I mean, do they expect illegals to walk up to the DMV and try to get an ID? This is just like the gun argument. Criminals don't go to gun stores and patiently wait in line to buy a gun to kill people with. Plus the criminals caught by the instant background check aren't even arrested anyway.

Yeah, we got played for fools the last election, didn't we.

We supported Bush when the media picked apart his National Guard record, we stood by Bush over the "Bush lied" lie, the leftwing 527s that attacked him, the attack on the Swiftvets, etc. What did we get in return? Bush supporting commie Arlen Specter, refusing to denounce the Dems for who they are, and return to business-as-usual.

I received a GOP fundraising letter from my local GOP office - I replied that I was sick of it and will support the Constitution Party unless the GOP get its act together.

Exactly. Criminals either buy guns from the black market or do not use guns at all. Illegals and terrorists will not get any ID because they will want to hide "under the radar." SO therefore the "Real ID" is a moot point from when the idea was conceptualized.

Criminals obtains guns illegally. But I've got to register mine. I've never committed a crime in my life.

Terrorists fly airplanes into buildings but I've got to get a Federal ID card. I never flew an airplane into a building.

Here's a huge bump for commonly-UNcommon sense. Where is Tom Paine when we need him? Where are ALL the Founders? (Besides twirling in their graves at 33 1/3 RPM, I mean...)
