Despite nearly three decades of totalitarian abuse of the American people, and supposedly stern reprimands by Congress, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives continues its violent and illegal reign of terror while its size, power, and appropriations grow. Even worse, the arrogant attitude of these jackbooted thugs has now spread to many other "law enforcement" agencies at all levels of government. A few names say it all: Ruby Ridge, Waco, Donald Scott, Donald Carlson, Accelynne Williams. Each time such travesties occur, promises of reform ring across the political landscape, only to die without an echo. Unconstitutional agencies get...

The National Rifle Association has done it. Again. Having advertised itself for more than a century as the nation's foremost defender of the Second Amendment, the NRA has once again given aid and comfort to politicians -- all of the "usual suspects": Carolyn McCarthy, Charles Schumer, Patrick Leahy, Harry Reid, and that perennial Judas goat John Dingell -- as well as to pressure groups like the Brady Campaign, who are determined to destroy that right, by assisting passage of a law with the potential to strip hundreds of thousands of military veterans of their basic right to own and...

November 20th, 2007A Personal Message from Aaron Zelman Under the current laws of the United States of America, tax-exempt educational organizations like Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (of which I happen to be the founder and executive director) are strictly prohibited from engaging directly in electoral politics. That's why it's important to make sure you understand thoroughly that the following opinions are entirely mine, at the present moment, and do not necessarily reflect those of JPFO.I have before me an article in which the Anti-Defamation League's "Assistant Director of Civil Rights", Steven Freeman is attempting to take...

ALERT FROM JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP America's Aggressive Civil Rights Organization February 19, 2007 JPFO ALERT: Classifying Your Firearms into Oblivion In 2003, Akins Group Inc. developed the Akins Accelerator, a bumpfire stock for a Ruger 10/22 that can produce about 650 rounds/minute. The company received classification letters from the BATFE agreeing that the stock was not a firearm and therefore unregulated. Akins performed approximately 18 months of testing, built injection molds based on the results, and began offering the Accelerator to the public in December of 2006. True to form, the BATFE suddenly decided that the...

ALERT FROM JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP America's Aggressive Civil Rights Organization September 12, 2006 JPFO ALERT: With "Friends" Like These ... We're in Trouble The US House of Representatives will soon vote on HR 5092 ( www.jpfo.org/HR5092.pdf ), the "Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) Modernization and Reform Act of 2006". Many are hailing this bill as a positive step toward reform of the BATFE. But is it really? - Unlike HR 1603 -- which is bottled up in committee -- HR 5092 does not require the videotaping of BATFE firearm tests, which would ensure...

ALERT FROM JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP America's Aggressive Civil Rights Organization February 28, 2006 JPFO ALERT: WE WARNED YOU In our past alerts concerning the BATFE Congressional hearings ( http://www.jpfo.org/alert20060213.htm ), we told you to keep your eyes open and watch for betrayal. Pay attention to who defends or justifies the actions of the BATFE. Look for "compromises" that only compromise YOUR rights. Not surprisingly, we were right to be concerned. The hearings, originally scheduled for 2pm EST today, were quietly rescheduled to 2:30pm. Additionally, the webcast was dropped, although as of this writing, the link to...

That JPFO and the NRA have different views on "gun control" is no secret; you can read our position -- and view supporting evidence -- at http://www.jpfo.org/alert20061211.htm . You can also read an article on the NRA's recent alignment with gun-prohibitionist Carolyn McCarthy at http://www.jpfo.org/smith-nra.htm . And now, NRA Director Joaquin Jackson has publically stated that magazine capacities should be limited to five rounds and that "assault weapons [sic] should be limited to military or police." That's right -- a director of the supposedly pro-gun NRA wants to take YOUR semi-automatic rifles away. Don't believe us? Think it's just a...

TWIN FALLS, IDAHO As 7 p.m. approaches, the high-desert sunlight lingers with a golden hue and 80 degree warmth, favoring the people who pull their vehicles into the downtown lot by the Lamphouse Theater. Disembarking and filing into the movie theater, they appear to be a Western cross-section: carefully stepping gray-haired ladies, a guy in an electric wheelchair, a few sweet little girls, the vice mayor, a toddler clinging to a mother’s shoulder, two doctors, and the inevitable guy wearing camo pants. Collectively, they would seem to have little to worry about. All around them on this mid-June evening, Twin...

I'm the last person you would ever expect to own a gun, let alone become a gun rights activist. I'm often asked how a Jewish woman, a native of San Francisco and a graduate of Stanford and Harvard Law became president of the NRA. My story is not unique but it may remind us, around this Memorial Day, of the value of the right to own a firearm, and it may help you explain that right to someone else. It was a night in 1982 when I was living alone in suburban Los Angeles. At about 3 a.m., I awoke...

EDITOR'S NOTE: This exclusive interview, copyright © by JPFO, puts to rest the ongoing debate of how to deal with the ever increasing violence and bloodshed in America's schools, by showing proven solutions (not just theories) to the problem. Rest assured the answer is not in more "gun control", as the gun prohibitionists would want to brainwash America into believing. In fact, the problem IS gun control.

Congress Shafts Second Amendment ... Again
-
Another “think tank,” this one called the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), has come out for total civilian disarmament and repeal of the Second Amendment. What’s new about that? ISPU is openly pro-Muslim, and the ISPU writer is a criminal defense attorney who argues for repealing parts of the Bill of Rights. You can read the whole article, entitled “In the Fight Against Terrorism, Some Rights Must Be Repealed,” by Junaid Afeef, on the ISPU website: http://www.ispu.us/pages/articles/2914/articleDetailPB.html A JPFO supporter sent us the link, and we did read the article, looking for: a. Inaccurate “facts” b. Missing data...

Recently a JPFO supporter sent a letter to the NRA asking about its position on the BATFE. As our readers know, JPFO has made it a mission to abolish that rogue agency and end federal control and regulation of your firearms. In their response to our supporter, the NRA spokesperson, on behalf of Sandra Froman, president of the NRA, made several statements that are contrary to what JPFO believes gun rights organizations should support. "...we support certain federal laws relative to firearms..." "The Association does not object to many of the federal laws..." "...greater emphasis should be placed on enforcing...

On Tuesday, October 17, 2006, another nail was pounded into freedom's coffin when President Bush signed the Military Commissions Act into law. Within the Act, the 800-year tradition of Habeas Corpus -- the right of the accused to face their accuser in court -- was essentially eliminated. While much of the mainstream media glossed over this news with a disinterested yawn, one brave commentator made no bones about the magnitude of this treachery. The Sunday Times June 25, 2006 Murder wave hits US ‘exburbs’ Tony Allen-Mills, New York THERE were five teenagers in the car rolling quietly through the muggy night an hour before dawn in central New Orleans. By the time the police caught up with them last weekend, they were all dead — riddled with bullets in the worst outbreak of gun violence since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city last year. An apparent ambush by unknown gunmen in an area still recovering from Katrina’s flooding has delivered a sharp jolt to what many criminologists are describing as complacency about violent crime....

NORFOLK — A Virginian-Pilot carrier who was delivering newspapers early today shot and wounded one of two youths who tried to rob him, police said. Police planned to charge the youths, who were in custody. Their ages and identities were not released. The injured youth was hospitalized under guard, according to Cpl. Ollan Burruss, police spokesman. His wounds were not considered life-threatening. Police said the shooting happened around 2:52 a.m. in the vicinity of the 3500 block of Chesapeake Blvd. The carrier, who is an independent contractor and not an employee of the newspaper, had just started his route when...

A NATION OF COWARDS Jeffrey R. Snyder OUR SOCIETY has reached a pinnacle of self-expression and respect for individuality rare or unmatched in history. Our entire popular culture -- from fashion magazines to the cinema -- positively screams the matchless worth of the individual, and glories in eccentricity, nonconformity, independent judgment, and self-determination. This enthusiasm is reflected in the prevalent notion that helping someone entails increasing that person's "self-esteem"; that if a person properly values himself, he will naturally be a happy, productive, and, in some inexplicable fashion, responsible member of society. And yet, while people are encouraged to revel...

<p>An arsenal of exotic weapons - including a sniper rifle, a spear and a set of 8-inch metal claws - were seized from a 23-year-old Jersey City man after his worried father called cops. When South District cops responded to the Greenville home yesterday morning, they found the sniper rifle - with a powerful scope and a laser sight - as well as three Glock handguns and more than 1,200 rounds of ammunition, reports said. Among the bullets were illegal "hollow-point" rounds, police said. In addition to the spear and metal claws, cops found a number of savage-looking knives, including one that had blades coming out of each end of its carved wooden handle. The owner of the weapons lived with his father, his brother and two younger brothers, police said.</p>

Women Getting Trigger Happy More Women Are Buying and Using Guns March 19, 2006 — - More women, from soccer moms to professionals like the ones at the Blue Ridge Arsenal gun range in Chantilly, Va., are packing heat for sport, self-empowerment and protection. In August of 2005, participants at gun shows in Virginia were shocked to discover that while they were purchasing perfectly legal firearms, BATFE agents visited their homes and their neighbors' homes (1), asking questions like, "Do you know your spouse/neighbor is buying a gun? How do you feel about that?" Agents obtained the residence information from purchase forms that buyers are required to fill out ... a clear violation of federal law. Now, seven months later, the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security will hold an oversight hearing to investigate apparent wrongdoing by BATFE. The hearings will...

I found out today that ATFE has reinstated the ability of Nevada CCW holders to use their Nevada CCW permits as an alternative to the $25 Point Of Sale contact in filling out the form 4473 required with each firearm sale. This is GREAT news, and a testament to the power of gun owner activism. Initially the Nevada Chief's and Sheriff's Association thought they could simply shrug off the results of several of their members failing an ATFE audit. Their failing the audit resulted in ATFE announcing that Nevada CCW's would no longer be accepted in lieu of a requirement...

A storm is brewing. It has the potential to utterly destroy the Republican Party. For years, under both Democrat and Republican administrations, American citizens -- cornerstones of their communities -- have been falsely charged and railroaded into prisons. We're talking about the _continuing_ abuses that are ruining innocent gun owners and...

On Tuesday, May 10, 2005, America became a true police state. Your U.S. senators voted -- unanimously, with no discussion, and without even reading the bill -- to create a national ID card. The Real ID Act blackmails state governments into turning their drivers licenses into a draconian tool of the federal homeland security apparatus. If states refuse, their citizens lose such "privileges" as being allowed to board an airplane, enter a federal building, or apply for social security. WHY THE TERRI SCHINDLER-SCHIAVO CASE MATTERS JPFO does not take an official position on issues such as the "right to die" or when it might be ethical to disconnect a brain-dead person from artificial life-support. But JPFO does care deeply about how governments use power against defenseless innocent people. The genesis of JPFO came with the observation that the Nazis rendered the Jews and others powerless by enforcing "gun control" laws. Our first book, "Gun Control": Gateway to Tyranny, was the first major work to prove the connection between German victim disarmament laws and the destruction of 12 million victims...

AB-232 was heard in the Nevada assembly judiciary committee today. I attended the hearing, paid lobbyist John L. Wagner was the only one there who I recognized. AB-232 does two things. 1. As used in this section, “upon a person” means actually on a person or in a container carried by a person". It would codify the current A.G Opinion allowing firearms carry in a vehicle. This "upon the person" language may be important, as it would prevent a future A.G. easily taking vehicle carry away from us by merely changing the opinion. The point was brought up that the...
