True...I forgot to say that she responded to other freepers. Newbies can't be expected to know that they aren't suppose to post on their first day! How would they know that.

Besides...who made up that rule anyway? The main page says to "Jump right in"

Exactly. NOWHERE on the Welcome page to FreeRepublic does it mention the "unwritten rule" that Newbies are not supposed to speeak unless spoken to.

I understand that trolls are rampant these days, but I'd like to presume most people innocent until or unless they PROVE themselves guilty by doing something overtly disruptive or DUmb.

We could just wind up chasing away decent people with our hyper-sensitive, anti-troll fervor.

Speaking for 99.5% of us on this thread tonight, I'm sorry. I wish your introduction to FreeRepublic had been more hospitable. Please don't let the actions of one over-zealous individual sully your opinion of the entire forum. As you can see, you have plenty of supporters and defenders on this thread, and, if you stick around a while, I think you'll find you will have many friends as well.

Oh Cmon. You should already know that because you are a woman, your opinion can't be legit, after all, if it wasn't for us men, you wouldn't be able to voice your opinion at all. Why we are not like the Taliban and beat you women into submission, is beyond me!
