A Serbian bridegroom spent the night in jail after he injured 15 guests while trying to shoot an apple with a shotgun.

Shooting the apple is a traditional part of a Serbian wedding and is supposed to bring good luck to the newly-weds, reports Glas Javnosti newspaper. But the groom, 47, who's also a police marksmen, used a shotgun instead of a pistol and 15 people were hit by ricocheting pellets.

None of the guests were seriously injured but police were called to the incident and arrested their colleague and confiscated his gun.

The question still remains....

Did he get the apple? Or did it get away?

Well, at least they didn't have to wait long to find out how much "luck" was heading their way.

"used a shotgun instead of a pistol"

It is the norm' to use a piston, thus one casualty is acceptable.

It’s getting to be a contradiction in terms.

A friend of mine said that you were in much greater danger from al-Cohol than from al-Qaeda.

The apple is usually 15 feet up in the air dangling from a pole or some other structure, what the hell did the pellets ricochet off of?
