Amy, you've truly been the Hostess with the Mostess and what you built here is not likely ever to be duplicated. Thanks for letting me hang out with all of you these last two years, even if I didn't get out of the back room often.

Amy, I couldn't have said it better than Billie did, so I won't even try.

But I will say that I have truly enjoyed making graphics to accompany the wonderful poems here and I too wish I could have spent more time hanging out with all the colorful and interesting Amy's Place visitors. Amy, Billie and Louie, you are the BEST, most creative people I have ever had the pleasure to work with and I am honored to have been asked to help contribute to this cyber gathering place.

Thank you, Amy, for each and every day that you opened the doors here and for bringing so many FRiends together.

As you three know, have had company here (eight people and a total of FOUR dogs) since the 4th. They left this afternoon, so, after I have rested up a bit, I will begin to sift through my mail and see what needs to be answered. I don't think I have ever been so far behind!

Now, if y'all will excuse me, I think I shall go collapse for awhile. :-)

Amy's Place doors slowly closing and so I'll squeeze through with a heartfelt thanks for the entertainment y'all have provided.

Now, where's JustFrank? Surely he's not gonna miss out on a farewell story.

"I know, I know ..... write a silly poem."

"...silly?" -- Moi?

Being A Kid

Being a kid means never having to say you’re sorry, and mean it!
It means someone will come along and fix it, you can play.
It means that tiny things can mean a lot to you, a marble, or a peanut,
And you will get to eat, before your stomach says, “Okay!”

And someone will remind you that you need to sleep.

It means you know someone who always has the money,
To operate the candy vending thing, and will.
But makes you do those silly things like ask,
And won’t cooperate with voices that are shrill.

Someone who thinks a promise is to keep.

It means that all you ever have to do is play,
‘Cause that’s the way you learn things, don’t you know?
And they will praise you for the funny things you say,
Unless you got them staying up to watch a show!

And they’ll carry you uphill when it is steep.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold you
in the hollow of his hand.

Thank You and Bless you, Amy

Happy Be a Kid Day, everyone.

Speaking of kids, here is some Kid-speak for ya:

Some grade school teachers keep journals of amusing things their students have written in papers. Here are a few examples:

*The future of "I give" is "I take."

*The parts of speech are lungs and air.

*The inhabitants of Moscow are called Mosquitoes.

*A census taker is a man who goes from house to house increasing the population.

*Water is composed of two gins. Oxygin and hydrogin. Oxygin is pure gin. Hydrogin is gin and water.

*(Define H2O and CO2.) H2O is hot water and CO2 is cold water.

*A virgin forest is a forest where the hand of man has never set foot.

*The general direction of the Alps is straight up.

*A city purifies its water supply by filtering the water then forcing it through an aviator.

*Most of the houses in France are made of plaster of Paris.

*The people who followed the Lord were called the 12 opossums.

*The spinal column is a long bunch of bones. The head sits on the top and you sit on the bottom.

*We do not raise silk worms in the United States, because we get our silk from rayon. He is a larger worm and gives more silk.

*One of the main causes of dust is janitors.

*A scout obeys all to whom obedience is due and respects all duly constipated authorities.

*One by-product of raising cattle is calves.

*To prevent head colds, use an agonizer to spray into the nose until it drips into the throat.

*The four seasons are salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar.

*The climate is hottest next to the Creator.

*Oliver Cromwell had a large red nose, but under it were deeply religious feelings.

*The word trousers is an uncommon noun because it is singular at the top and plural at the bottom.

*Syntax is all the money collected at the church from sinners.

*The blood circulates through the body by flowing down one leg and up the other.

*In spring, the salmon swim upstream to spoon.

*Iron was discovered because someone smelt it.

*In the middle of the 18th century, all the morons moved to Utah.

*A person should take a bath once in the summer, not so often in the winter.

Hi Amy, looking forward to seeing the pics. You look great, btw.

I'm reading a bit before going out with my neighbor for a milkshake. I'll be back after that.

Hope you had a great Kid's day.

Awww .... that is wonderful, OESY. Thank you.

Forget Being a Kid once a year; how about 52 times! Let's have a Be A Kid Day once a week. Play a game of marbles or kick the can.

Hope you enjoyed Being a Kid today!

We're always kids. : )

Well, Sis, I'm happy you're going to make some time for yourself. You've made AP a success.
Your wit, sweetness, and kind heartedness never waivered. Oh, a little hard work was involved also. : )

I wish I had contributed more, but the talented Billie and Lori took up the slack. Their wonderful graphics were always something to look forward to. Those two are very special people.

And, you, my sweet (((Sis) are one classy lady. And I love *you*.

See you at the Finest. : )

Hi, Colleen - I like that!!! Pretty backgrounds!

I've missed you - got your FR mail. Hate you're still having .art and .bmp problems. I do think it's associated with the *Top Speed* thingie at AOL. It's activated/deactivated under AOL Browser in your preferences. Try it? UNcheck it if yours is on (Save files on AOL for faster browsing)

Hey, I am back too.. Chunky cheese sounds like fun .. is the pizza good? I am a pizza lover . Are you playing a video game in the pix???? Looks like a gun.. so you too are a 2nd amendment mama???

I had 2.5 hr vigorous (the word that is used for excessive hills) hike with friend & our combined 3 dogs & 4 hour bike outing.. nice day.

Amy a 40 mile bike outing is NOT unusual for cyclists.. I do about 1500-2000 miles a season on bike & you don't do that with 3 miles each time out!

going to read rest of pings but just noted on Dose ping that Snugs dad had to be taken to hospital with angina attack so lets keep her in our prayers
