Hello, Harvey?
North Atlantic Tropical Weather Outlook
Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a vigorous tropical wave about 425 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands has become a little better organized this afternoon. Additional organization of this system is possible and a tropical depression could form during the next couple of days as it moves toward the west-northwest about 15 to 20 mph. An Air Force Reserve unit reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system tomorrow afternoon...if necessary.

Can't be Harvey. No Harvey has ever formed prior to September 11. Then again, no Gert ever formed before September 7, and nary an "F" storm at all before September 2nd.
We have entered the tropical twilight zone...

I've been watching this puppy all week. It was fighting too much dry air to really develop much, but now that the models have it moving north of Hispanola, it should probably develop into Harvey before hitting Florida or possibly shooting the gap into the Gulf.
What fun.
