"For heaven's sake, what is dangerous about caps?"
I believe it is the concept of guns, especially in the hands of ordinary people, that is dangerous.

I "killed" more Indians with my cap gun than Carter has liver pills. Amazingly they ALL lived. LOL I think the problem is that it's PC now to keep any kind of a gun away from kids. They want to teach kids that guns are bad from the time they're little

I remember having a toy pistol with those red rolls of pockets of black powder, you had to put the roll under the hammer of the gun and it made a little pop sound and if you were really lucky a tiny puff of smoke.

It's not that cap guns are illegal, It's toys that "promote violent behavior" that are 'discouraged". Even GI Joe figures, toy tanks etc. are put way up on the high shelf out of view from small kids.
There are actually leftist loons that go to toy stores and convince retailers to keep these things from view, or not sell them at all.

Where do you live?
Like Basil says they are in stores down here, even the gas stations have them.

Discharged close to the ear, hearing damage is possible.
Sufficiently realistic toys (the kind I insisted on as a
kid) can get you shot by a cop in worst-case scenarios.
Whether these considerations are what drives the ToysRus
agenda, I couldn't say.

Me wonders how long it's gonna be before even the mere thought of guns (from any perspective) is illegal too?

This sort of insanity is due to Leftist stupidity which holds that little boys raised with toy guns will undoubtedly grow up to be homicidal murderers.
Funny how the Leftists aren't demanding that all those infant dolls should be banned because, according to their moronic logic, little girls raised with those will undoubtedly grow up to be unwed mothers.

Hitting a whole box with a hammer will make your ears ring, but it's a lot of fun!
