Righthander Jeff Reardon, who was instrumental in the Minnesosta Twins' 1980 World Series championship and also pitched for the Red Sox from 1990-92, was arrested in Florida yesterday on suspicion of committing armed robbery. According to a release from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Reardon, 50, entered a jewelry store in a shopping mall and handed a clerk a note demanding money. The clerk, believing he had a gun, filled a bag with an undisclosed amount of cash. Reardon fled with the cash and was followed by the store manager and arrested outside a restaurant, police said .

AOL has a pretty good article up right now about his situation. He is taking a number of different medications for both physical and mental problems, and went off the deep end, so to speak.
This is not something Jeff would ever do under normal circumstances. His memory of what happened yesterday is very foggy and he did not even know his name when they arrested him. So that should tell you something.

That's why I asked since you claimed it wasn't financial related.... I had a friend who's sister was bipolar and when she got her meds messed up she knew not what she was doing at times.
Not quite.
He is still pretty rich and still has money and also a lot of oppurtunities to make even more money if he wants.
Besides, he also does get a MLB pension, which is quite nice.
