She is six years old, totally de-clawed (there's a vet.out there somewhere I would like to kill!) and absolutely fearless.
She has an awesome hiss and if that does not get the job done, she throws a mean right hook.
She can also be the sweetest, most lovable cat.
I am honored to be one of her people.
Thanks, but that one isn't ours.
...Sadly, ours isn't with us any longer, although that's pretty much what he looked like in his 'younger days'... and I have the scars to PROVE it. ...grin
He would not qualify as a viking kitty. Loved everybody and assumed everybody loved him. He would let any of the neighbors' cats come in and eat his dinner, lie in his bed - no problem.
He used to follow me everywhere in the village - hair salon, doctor's office. Had to eat outside at the local cafe because he would follow me inside and that is a no-no,of course.
Miss that little guy!
Better hope she never asks for fava beans and a nice Chianti *thpf*.
She so far only asks for catnip and crunchies.
The little one looks a little bit like my Lainey.
We do get attached to them, don't we?
Tam's the best cat I've ever had...he's just fascinating. He doesn't go outdoors, so he isn't quite the constant companion your kitty was - what was his name?
He does love to be played with, including playing fetch, and he's wayyyy friendly with most folks. Likes to be carried around like a rag doll.
Still, I imagine he'd have no tolerance for trolls. He has the evil glare thing down. ;-)
My cat's name was Steve. I still have three others and the little one - a girl - has not been the same since we lost Steve - last July. She was very close to him and wants nothing to do with me or the other kitties now. I hope time will change things, but seven months is a long time.
Best wishes to you and your lovely felines.
He's a poodle. He's too sissy for tennis balls and chewies. He's like a stuffed animal with a pulse... :-P
Is he a standard?
No, a toy; He shouldn't get much bigger than ten inches...
Thank you one and all! Very clever, concise, funny stuff. Not sure I tracked the reference to "wet work" but if it means what I think it does, our cats don't have that problem.
Okay, please allow me to review. Our three Siamese men are smart, discriminating, tough, loaded with cattitude, await commands unless Elliott's in charge. In which case, trolls would disappear with the speed of light. They're capable of mean expressions, model horned helmets on weekends, can handle AK's, leap, bound, maul, render and eviscerate better than any three cats I know. I can also assure you that plotting against and comsuming trolls will not be a problem. They may be beautiful but that's only their deep cover. Their true mission (which they chose to accept) is to rid the world of worthless, mean-spirited, dumm, useless trolls. How'm I doing so far?
"And they have a dog-like loyalty to one person. With their habit of intimate conversation with their owner, they are the perfect Viking kitty. From the proud owner of a Siamese."
Nice to meet you! And yes, our three are purebred Siamese. Must agree that they are "living art." And the best part about that is that they're totally unaware of it.
They're all big talking, big personality fellas, which we love. They're not for everyone but if one is a Siamese person, the bond runs very deep. Certainly does at our house.
What a guy! I think Henry's terrific. And, though I'm new at this, I'm pretty sure he's got the Viking thing going on. What a cutie!
I agree, Beyond. Especially that second part. And it helps to have an owner of Norwegian descent. ;-)
How've you been, Beyond?
"Intelligence and a good nose for BS."
Not a problem. They've got that stuff covered. Too much so. If I so much as think about giving one of them a pill, I'm darned near out of luck. As a consequence, I give them meds while I'm in half a self-induced trance. Probably not the best way to go but otherwise I can take it myself. Outsmarting a Siamese isn't easy. It's also not for the faint of heart.
Is that a bengal?
Like mine?
Your Viking Kitty visuals were terrific! They definitely clarified the appropriate VK state of mind. Thanks.
I'd love to have a couple more, noisy and demanding though they are! I wanted a Siamese all through childhood, finally got one the summer after I got out of the military, and spent a year wanting to strangle him. ;-) I was prepared for talking, but not as prepared as I thought I was. I also didn't realize just how much a part of my life he'd want to be...even in the wee hours of the morning.
He mellowed slightly after kittenhood - perhaps I did, too. In any case, demanding as he is, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I've never loved a cat as much as I love him. Personality in spades!
