Help 16 year old son on pro-ANWAR Drilling persuassive paper. What are the top 5 countries from which we import oil?

Canada is number one.

Mexico and Venezuela are in the top five. I assume Saudi Arabia and Kuwait would be the other two in the top five.

One thing, though. Most of the oil we get from the Mid East is from the cartel OPEC. That means we don't go directly to one country or the other for their oil. We get it from their pooling of resources. I am pretty sure this is true and if it is, then that means we should not say we get oil "from" any particular mid eastern country because what we get comes from all of them.

That is not true. OPEC does not combine oil sales and never has.
