This week, I am going to point you to several interesting links:
This link will tell you how many calories it takes to stay at your present body weight.
I Really like this calorie list (of foods) cuz you can print *LABELS*....
This is just a cool collection of tools including a food calorie list.
My method of losing weight has been to simply count calories, keep them a little below the required amount (by about 700), and exercise. For exercise, I walk and work out at the gym. While my calorie intake occasionally has me a little hungry, I am never ravenous, and it is not painful. My starting weight (at 6') was 285, my weight as of this morning was 234. I plan to get to 205, muscled up, then maintain.

Then you need to create a calorie deficit and since you've already started exercising (which is essential) then the change has to be in your diet.

I know it stinks. I've found eating small meals every few hours helps.

Good luck with the healing process! It sounds as if things went well for you, as you are ready to get exercising again.
I am not a doctor, I just do medical transcription for a cardiology group.
I have learned that patients absolutely must follow their cardiologist's orders. When they tell you to start walking - they'll tell you how much exercise to get.
They will be pleased that you are motivated to do this, and they certainly won't let you sit around too long!

Thanks a lot, the doctors have been really amazed at how fast I have been recovering from the operation. They all said I was a tough old coot. I think it goes back to when I was using free weights and building up the stamina that requires. I got away from my exercise programs and haven´t felt good since. I will talk to the doctors.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this operation and has gone back to a regular exercise program and what problems they may have encountered.
