Weekly FR Diet, Exercise, and Fitness Thread (3/27/06)

This week, I am going to point you to several interesting links:

This link will tell you how many calories it takes to stay at your present body weight.

I Really like this calorie list (of foods) cuz you can print *LABELS*....

This is just a cool collection of tools including a food calorie list.


My method of losing weight has been to simply count calories, keep them a little below the required amount (by about 700), and exercise. For exercise, I walk and work out at the gym. While my calorie intake occasionally has me a little hungry, I am never ravenous, and it is not painful.

My starting weight (at 6') was 285, my weight as of this morning was 234. I plan to get to 205, muscled up, then maintain.

Have you tried to up your fiber intake. That helped me not feel so hungry.
Also, drink more water. It helps flush nasty out of your system.

n/p...I can't spend all the time in the world on it, but if you serve as a deputy, that would be nice. I'll check in from time to time to see if any cleanup is needed.

Yeah,
Eating healthy and upping my activity is what works for me.

My problem is days like today, when there are leftover Macadamia Nut cookies and they bring them to me.

I ate one.

however, having a piece of pizza with tomato sauce isn't that bad for you...tomatoes do wonderful things for our bodies.

I exercise But for me the key is actually the grocery store. If I don't buy it, I won't eat it! Stick to the periphery of the store. That way, you are buying fruits, veggies, fresh meats and fish and milk, eggs and cheese. It's those middle aisles of packaged goods that do me in.

Thanks for keeping this thread going, the diet reminders are always a good thing and help keep us motivated.

I'm currently snacking on a sliced cucumber, with a whole box of donuts sitting about 5 feet away. I need all the motivation I can get.
