I really probably should have tackled the whole illegal immigration thing going on, but I came up with this idea and started working on it Friday and there was no way I could go back once I started.

BTW, this is a real story.

And now one of my favorite Dinklemeyers:

This is based loosely on my own Dad’s nightly eating habits, though he’s not nearly as messy.

This strip really in earnest begins the “Pig Acceptance” story, where the pig has to press for acceptance in the Dinklemeyer household. It really establishes the characters and their personalities well. Freddy will often have to play straight man to the goofy antics of his Dad and the Talking Pig.

Good job, Coo-treux, but why is Dinklemeyer bringing a pig home instead of that young gal he fancied?

He didn't bring the pig home. The pig just sort of showed up at his home.

If he brought a gal home...that would just be against the strip's rules.

Exactly. We were talking about it last week...and I was already planning it in my mind.

In real life, you can. But in the Dinklemeyer cartoon strip, that would go against the rules I established in the world. Like the Roadrunner and Coyote. The Coyote will never catch the roadrunner...and his plans will always backfire.

Go against the rules, and you're playing tennis without a net.

Oh goodie! I love the mockery of Hollywood elitism. Keep up the good work, Felipe.

Yeah, I'm working on 'em good.

(They should have waited a few more days over the illegals thing. That would have worked better for me.)

I'm really enjoying tonight's strips.

You nailed it all, perfectly. And in a very amusing way.

Is that a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, or is that a real pig?

As Frank Zappa used to say, "Is that a real poncho, or is that a Sears poncho"?

I guess he's a cartoon talking pig that only one person can hear. They're sort of a species all their own.

Coe-true...I asked a reasonable question.
Sorry if I don't follow your 'strip' enough to know the 'rules'.
As for your smart-assed remark, if I play sans net, at least I've a female to join me, pal.

Phil is a great guy.

You are way out of line.

I wasn't being sarcastic, I was just explaining why Dinklemeyer doesn't have a girlfriend.

'Phil' makes a smart-assed crack and you see fit to scold me?
Screw you and 'Phil'.

Phil didn't make a smart-assed crack.

That's just the way he is.

If you knew him, you'd know what I was talking about.

And you are more out of line now than you were before.

If you don't like things on Phil's thread, go bother someone else.
