My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

My bathroom is decorated with a bit of rust, too, but it wasn't intentional.

Hi Bob!

Nope, don't mind a bit especially cause it's with a wonderful poem!

Well done and thank you.

Bob, I was reading about the anatomy of dragons, they have a t like structure across their shoulders with hinge like joints which enables them to fly.

My old sink was definitely rust coated. Guess I got fond of the colour.

Most dragons are shown with batlike wings. The articulation of such is not a vexing problem.

The questioning comes about because this then describes a beast with six limbs. No other creature on Earth is thus equipped, and many find the concept unsettling.

It isn't so strange if you accept that you could be talking about another planet, but then again, it could be part of the magical charm of dragons!

Thanks! I've been thinking about dragons as background for a story idea. I like my dragons to be scientifically plausible.

Yes, the bat like thingy was called webbing in the article I read. Same difference.

Ah, Bob I am still a believer that dragons lived and walked with man.

I like to read a poem I can picture.

It's a similar concept. I find it easier to describe things if I have a good mental picture of them.

"I am still a believer that dragons lived and walked with man."

I'm developing a story in which dragons and men are part of a common culture, each benefitting from the other.

Only a couple of thousand words so far. I'm still putting plot elements together.

Among other things, I don't want the dragons to be just windowdressing.

Good thought, they must have a good influence on mankind.

It's my first alien (well, second, actually) species. I have to develop a history, philosophy, and culture for the dragons.

Then I have to mix this with the presence and influence of man. It's a bit of work, but it's fun.

Yupper it's that cool. Last night into the 40s. We have had consistent rain for about two weeks. Oh, there were 2 days of dry and sunshine.

I did not have my a/c put in until the last week of May, I used it for about one week. Then the temps were in the high 80s. All down hill since then.

Well, the desert has its ups and downs, too...but they're usually daily changes!

Hope the chill isn't affecting your health. You take care of yourself, y'hear?
