I dont get it. I keep hearing from people that welfare is immoral and wasteful when it helps so many people who would die without it. I also hear some of them talking about giving money to charities such as the salvation army and the like. Everyone has a right to live, that means the right to freedom, a job, a car and a home. No one should be forced to live without any of those. I was homeless for a year before a went on welfare. They helped me get a job and a home and I dont need it anymore! How can you be against somthing thats so good and useful? WOuld you rather the poor just starve to death and die here in America like they do in Africa?
I am not against helping those who need help. I am against lifelong welfare, generation after generation, and help for illegals who come here just to get welfare. I also am angry that if I or someone in my family needed help, we would be turned down because we are citizens and not from the right ethnic group.
So is a mugging, by your logic. Charity is voluntary, welfare taxation is at the point of a gun. Also, there aren't many charities that skim 72% off the top for bureaucratic processing.
Right to live, fine. The rest? Not on my dime. Get your own job and buy your own stuff if you want it so bad. Good riddance.

Believe it or not, this happened to me. During my lean college years I went to the SS office to try to get on Medicaid. All I wanted was a catastrophic coverage policy. I never got past the front desk. The admin looked at me and said, "Your a white male, you can get along on your own."
I will never forget that. Now, I am very happy that I didn't get any aid, I'd rather tell that story than one of being a successful mooch.
