Little Antonio, a goldfish made almost famous by living over 111 days in water from the Los Angeles River, was found dead in his tank in the latimes.com newsroom at 1:58 a.m. Monday. He was believed to be about five months old.
The cause of death was undetermined, according to a website editor who made the sad but perhaps inevitable discovery.

This is too funny.
In what can only be viewed as a testimony to a very bored workforce, the so-called "goldfish cam" received tens of thousands of visits from viewers here and abroad.

Now the folks at the LA Times can find out the only good use for their paper; wrapping up a dead fish!!!

Both Little Ed and Little Antonio overcame some type of weird and disgusting skin rash in their early days in the tank together and appeared in recent weeks to be very healthy. They also became virtually impossible to distinguish from one another and a coin flip had to be held later Monday at City Hall to determine which fish had died.
Little Antonio lost.

"A gimmick like Little Antonio is hard to find," said latimes.com executive editor Joel Sappell as he reviewed the site's traffic numbers.
. . . the fish is expected to receive a burial at sea early this week by way of the Los Angeles sanitation system.

I'm amazed they found any water in the LA River. When I lived there, it was just a backdrop for filming episodes of CHIPS.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but the fish is expected to receive a burial at sea early this week by way of the Los Angeles sanitation system.
Ahem, this gimmick, er goldfish when "buried" won't wind up in the "sea". It will wind up in the local sewer.
Those sentimental liberals ... LOL!!!

No wonder the paper employees know that they have no future, the fish getting flushed is the same as their careers.

I just can't take another sad goldfish story. I'm just now getting over this one:
Little Nancy was in the garden filling in a hole when her neighbour peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you doing there, Nancy?"
"My goldfish died," replied Nancy tearfully without looking up, "and I've just buried him." The neighbour was very concerned. "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"
Nancy patted down the last heap of dirt then replied, "That's because he's inside your @&%$(@%& cat."

I am not a fish expert by any means, but doesnt the water have to be changed occassionally? Either that or filtered and pumped back in so it oxygenates?
If they didnt do what is proper to keep this fish alive they could be prosecuted for cruelty to a fish. How does Susan Sarandon and Doris day stand on this?

They are liberals, things get done by themselves. They just "feel bad". That is the role liberals play in life, they "feel", they don't do a damn thing.
