Woman Ordered To Get Rid Of 168 Cats

A woman in Volusia County, Fla., has three months to get rid of nearly 170 cats living at her home after a request to keep them was denied, according to a Local 6 News report.

Homeowner Kristi Grant has been taking care of the cats at her home -- which is surrounded by a high fence.

However, neighbors have complained that the animals are attacking squirrels and killing birds.

City Council members unanimously denied Grant's request to have her home declared an animal sanctuary.

Grant can only keep four cats, according to zoning laws, the report said.

That's a Korat! Rare cat... I'd recognize 'em anywhere, I have one of my own.

Pretty cat.

What makes it rare? How does it differ from other cats? I thought ir was a typical domestic.

It's an imported line from Thailand and hasn't been in the US for more than a few decades.

She'll re-up her cat population again. People like that always do.

Nice to have the confirmation, I thought the exact same when i saw it. My boy's only half Korat, but I spent a good bit of time around his mother so I was pretty sure I recognized the breed :-)

Oh come on!!! Why do neighbors have to poke their noses into other people's business. I can see being bothered if the cats are not kept in a healthy manner, but good grief!! Stepping away from my soapbox... grumble grumble ... stupid nosy neighbors...
