Here is my thoughts, and I am sorry for the vanity.
Perhaps Iran is not planning on bombing Israel or America, simply because of the imminent retrobution that will visit on Iran. What if Iranian agents were to test their first nuke on Baghdad?
They could blame it on the Russians, or on the North Koreans, anything to deflect the blame from Iran. The Green Zone would be destroyed, the Iraqi government decimated. And all it would take would be a small truck carrying a nuclear cargo. Am I crazy to think so? The terrorists could instantly say the bomb came from Russia or China or NKP, thereby displacing the balme on a larger power that America could not fight.
Iraq would become a madhouse. The "civilized" world would blame America, and not Iran, or any other Muslim power. It sounds too good to be true to Iran. Your thoughts?

OPINION: Hopefully the right-thinking citizens still in Iran will give AllMyJihad, his mahdi visions, and the extremist mullahs an attitude adjustment sooner vs. later.
I have no doubt whatsoever that if every educated person confined to insane asylums were given the opportunity to predict the near future, there is a very good chance that one of them will get it essentially right.
The same goes for "pacifists" and "progressives". Having sufficient samples responding to any given set of circumstances someone will always claim accuracy after the fact.
The science is to identify the correct probable results before the fact...

Besides, they have their surrogates to do the nasty stuff. They will be aiming for us next. We are the next hezbo target.
That being the case, how could any country at all be identified with absolute certainty as responsible?
Remember, the current and inviolable paramount requirement today to identify any given country as responsible for anything is absolute certainty. Just read the MSM for the last ten years or so...
But in reality, it would be highly unlikely that the U.S. would use nuclear tipped weapons in a scenario like that. The accountability would come out eventually. You could not keep it secret.
Secondly and probably most important, the U.S. would not use them preemptively. We just won't.
Would someone else do it from the West?.........unlikely.
One nuke would do nothing but panic the entire planet in any case. It would take dozens to destroy Iran to the point of catastrophic damage.
Iran must fall from within and conventional weapons could be used to give them a shove.
All this nuke talk is not productive for us. We are not likely to use them unless someone uses them against us or our protectorate first..
If we did use them, it could be justified use if few people were hurt or killed.
This is the only scenario that I can come up with where we might use a nuke preemptively.

A matter of learned debate on the left is whether the eeevil Bush administration carried out the 9/11 attacks or if they merely knew in advance and did nothing to prevent them.
For the hardcore DUers Bush and Rove are the only possible suspects in such an enterprise. For more moderate ones it could conceivably be a nefarious plot of the Joos to trigger a NAZIlike extermination project against the peacefulloving and cherubic Mohammedans.

I'd be much more concerned if you lived in Tehran. "Mahdi Mahmoud" doesn't seem to care if he ends up "martyring" half his population in the name of his messianic complex and his do-it-yourself apocalypse . . .because the three nations he has singled out for apocalyptic punishment in his speeches (US, UK, Israel) each really do have the technical capability to actually carry out what he only threatens - - wiping out an entire people in retaliation.
