AP) FONTANA, Calif. A Metrolink commuter train has killed a man who was sitting on the tracks talking into his cellphone.

Authorities say it happened Friday afternoon in Fontana.

Witnesses say the man was talking into his phone and didn't notice the train until too late. He stood up but was struck.

The train had 45 passengers onboard. They weren't hurt but the accident caused a two-hour delay.

What's that you say? Kinda loud here. How's the training been going? Little impact so far.

I was amazed a couple of years ago to see a homeless-type man, with bedroll slung on his back, hiking along I-20 on the west side of Shreveport, holding a cellphone to his ear. Of course, I had no way of knowing if there was actually a person on the other end of the "conversation" . . .
