Have you ever wondered just who really IS smarter; Republicans or Democrats? Now you can join in and be a part of the equation.
I know you are all already getting pretty sick of political polling and predictions in the media. We want to know for sure, just who is smarter; Democrats or Republicans...well we are also going to do something about it and that is become a part of the answer. So to satisfy our need to know, we are inviting our readers and listeners to head on over to MyBrainTraner.com to play some games and help us find out the answer to our question.
MyBrainTrainer.com, is offering a cognitive choice reaction time contest between Democrats and Republicans. Here's how it works: the site has selected one of its sixteen cognitive exercises for this competition. The exercise can be completed in approximately two minutes. Scoring is based on accuracy, speed of response, and the focus which participants maintain throughout the exercise. After the exercise is completed, MyBrainTrainer.com will display an overall score and rating on the individual score components (speed, accuracy and focus). Each person's overall score will then be added to the site's database and the average overall scores for Democrats and Republicans will be displayed in real time, together with breakdown by age and gender. People may compete as often as they like.
By the end of this, you will be able to say that you have added to the cumulative IQ for the political party that you are affiliated with, and a lot of fun at the same time.

However, games like these show who has more free time...the Dems lead.
I was able to reach a score of 96 on the second try. A few smart Freepers can swing the results. Speed is very important. Read the instructions carefully. It's like a video game.
Your prescience astounds me at times.
What had MT predicted?
She had remarked yesterday that (R)'s are intrinsically more intelligent than (D)'s.
I agree.
Republican voters don't tend to be ignorant of the issues, while Democrats like to keep the debate very "shallow."
It's the Democrats' greatest strength: The average American's lack of knowledge.
I probably won't pass the test. I concede. I'm only a Phi Beta Kappa who graduated from Johns Hopkins University Summa Cum Laude. Now, I feel ashamed that I'm being compared to the dimwits at the Democrat Underground.
Congratulations on your achievements, but who is comparing you to the dimwits at DU?
Not I.
Did I say that? ;)
I think you might be referring to this comment: 'dick morris said the republican base represents the most educated subset of the american electorate.'
Actually tho, I do believe there is a difference in cognition. Ds and Rs are self-selected subgroups of Homo sapiens, so it's reasonable to hypothesize that there will be differences, including cognitive.
Because Republican/conservative philosophy appeals to reason, Rs tend to be analytic,; they are critical thinkers.
OTOH, Democrats rely on demagoguery, deception, emotion; the Democrat party, therefore, naturally attracts the emotive, the irrational and the incoherent.
What I meant was that it is intrinsic that (R)s, especially conservatives, tend to be smarter, and exhibit much more common sense, than (D)s, especially liberal Ds.
Yes, you did.
And as and after I read the rest of your comments I couldn't help but think of Marshal Reuben J. Cogburn's reaction upon meeting Eula Goodnight in the movie Rooster Cogburn.
(If your not familiar with this classic, take what I said as a compliment.)
The Democrat party consists of two groups: an elite core of well-educated, very intelligent upper and upper middle class people with advanced degrees and plenty of money. These are the ones who listen to NPR. Then there's the rest of the party, which is an immense zombie army of people who aren't nearly as swift. These are the ones who watch Jerry Springer. Republicans tend to fall in the zone between these two extremes. I think a typical Republican would be someone with a bachelor's degree.
I think that the Left's bad ideas don't come from a lack of intelligence but instead from a lack of wisdom. The Left is like some genius inventor who keeps developing these wonderfully clever perpetual motion machines that are absolutely doomed to fail. The Left simply refuses to acknowledge the subtle paradoxes that are so much a part of reality as it actually exists. Things like: lower taxes create higher tax revenues, liberated people do better for themselves than nannied people, the spontaneous order of a free market creates outcomes superior to one run by enlightened central planners, etc.
Basically it boils down to "if you love it, set it free". The libs refuse to get that. They'd rather control things. But reality is far more complex and far more subtle than they are, and so it winds up making a fool out of them when they try.
In other words, the libs need to read more Hayek.
Not familiar with it, but thanx.
I see you must identify yourself as R or D before the test begins.
Experience leads me to suspect that you may get a different test depending upon your party declaration, and which way the authors want to skew the results... which we can all guess... wouldn't that be par for the course?
Has anyone here taken the test both ways for a comparison?
OK, now that I've taken the test I know that the question I raised is nearly impossible to address.
I got 88.7 on the second try.
*shrug*
