Noia 2.0 has issues with almost all sidebar extensions in 2.0. ALl sidebar code groups/authors have plans to fix it, but some don't expect it to be finished for a matter of weeks yet.

Noia 2.0 has issues with almost all sidebar extensions in 2.0. what do you mean by sidebar?
To: CedarDave
Or do a full backup of the profile directory with particular attention to bookmarks.html. Any problems can be fixed with a drag and drop of the whole kit and kaboodle....after an uninstall of 2.0 and reinstall of 1.5.0 If anyone needs the 1.5.0 executable (not 1.5.0.7)...I have it.

The Mozilla forums are getting slammed. They have put up a special webpage, but I'm getting timeouts to both the specific forums and individual threads.

People, listen to the thread poster! If you are a power user of firefox, i.e. use more than 5 or 6 extensions, DO NOT upgrade to 2.0 yet!
I'd phrase that differently. If you have any extension that you depend on, verify that it is available first, at the link posted above:
http://www.extensionhunter.com/index.php?category=all&sortBy=weekly_downloads&page=0
For example, I have a dozen extensions loaded, but there are just two that I find essential enough to delay an upgrade: PasswordMaker and Tax Mix Plus. I could not even log into FreeRepublic anymore without PasswordMaker.
According to information off the above link, PasswordMaker is working now, but Tax Mix Plus may take another week or such. So in my case, I'll wait for Tax Mix Plus, and then upgrade.

I haven't have any problem with bookmarks. You can always back up your bookmarks. Copy the bookmarks.html file in the %SYSROOT%\Documents and Settings\{Username}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{alphanumeric code}.default\ directory someplace safe.

Oops, I mistyped that (%SystemRoot% not %SYSROOT% goes to something like C:\Windows\--I think %SYSROOT% is from NT4 if I recall correctly). It should be:
%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\{Username}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{alphanumeric code}.default\
(you can type it into an explorer box up to the profiles part if you substitute your username)

I'm not expecting problems either, but if I do run across any, the forums are not currently available due to being slammed with inquiries. I'll wait a while longer.

I haven't noticed anything different that 1.5. other than the in-line spell check and other added stuff. no negatives no far(knock on wood)
To: JerseyHighlander
I've got about 11 extensions installed and all of them broke with the new version. I just forced them to be compatible using Nightly Tester Tools and am slowly getting the updated ones as I go along.

Sidebar refers to the bookmarks window that can be displayed at the side of the screen...
Firefox uses the key code Cntrl-B to open and close the bookmarks sidebar...

No problems here. Some of my extensions and themes are incompatible, but I expected that (I have noticed the same thing with past betas and new releases). I'm totally digging the new version. This spell check feature is awesome.
Suck it dry, IE7!
