A Woodbury woman has bagged one of the biggest bucks ever killed in Minnesota with a bow and arrow.
Deb Luzinski shot the 24-point buck last Friday at Bald Eagle-Otter Lakes Regional Park in White Bear Township, in northeastern Ramsey County.
Once a mandatory 60-day drying period has passed, her buck could rank among the top three non-symmetrical -- or non-typical -- white-tailed deer ever killed with a bow and arrow, according to the Minnesota Record Book.

I went to the grand opening of A Bass Pro store here in San Antonio and they had a trailer with trophy mounts on display. I talked to the guy running the trailer and he told me that there is big money on mounts.
Once a year there is this auction where the primary bidders are Bass Pro and Cabelas. When I asked him on the prices he indicated that a good mount will go for thousands of dollars but that a record mount will go for 7 figures or more.
This lady may have one of those big dollar mounts!

From another article:
"The 24-pointer was 3½ years old and weighed about 190 pounds a relatively small and young buck, considering his antler size, Luzinski said."
That thing is a damned monster. It's said the be the third largest killed with a bow. I'd like to see the other two.

Here's some more, and a link to the article where I found the picture.
"The buck's antlers have been measured using the Boone and Crockett scoring method, which determines a deer's antler size in inches, based on number of points, thickness and width of the antlers, with deductions for imperfections. Luzinski's buck nets a score of 220 inches, which is a "green" score before a mandatory 60-day drying period.
The state's biggest nontypical whitetail killed by archery measures 2234/8, taken by Glen Bullick in 1989. The No. 2 archery deer measures 2225/8 and No. 3 measures 2175/8, so it is possible Luzinski's deer would claim that spot, according to the Minnesota Record Book.
Among combined firearms and archery kills, her buck would rank in the top 40."

"The 24-pointer was 3½ years old and weighed about 190 pounds a relatively small and young buck, considering his antler size, Luzinski said." that sounds about right, my dad got an 8 pointer that was 149lbs and it was 1.5 years old.

the neck on that thing is pretty big, looks like it was in full rut.
