Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I think Tam would sleep through it, too.
Halvah would yowl if her food bowl was empty...but that's not likely to intimidate anyone. Might wake me, at least.
Poor Tam...seems like his eyes are taking longer than usual to clear up this round.
Poor guy! That's no fun.
Ugh, got to start making a list of weekend things-to-do. I need to hit the speciality sewing store downtown to get presents for my mom and sister-in-law. The bookstore to get a present for Dad. Places unspecified to get a couple little things for Talon. The car registry place one of these days since my license plates are still wrong...
My office party tomorrow night, at the 'big' hotel downtown. We had the anime con there in August. It will be nice to be able to ride the elevator to the top floor instead of walking up 16 flights because 1500 people are trying to use the elevators.
Well, the lights and cable keep flickering, so we may be out of power, or at least communications, soon. We will be trying to stay safe here! The horses are out... We have a 'go' bag packed, and if stuff starts breaking we're going to go out and sit it out in the truck (away from, but watching, our trees) We'd appreciate any 'not-too-windy-please' prayers!
Great balls of fire, sis!
I'm praying for the entire compound!
Hold on!
When is it supposed to be over with? Is it just now starting??
Steve's at school...I'm freepin'...so I'm here with ya!
We're eating popcorn, watching "Cars". Joshua won it at the VW Club Christmas party. It's not great, but it's not just awful. I wouldn't have bought it for him. Some parts make me roll my eyes, but I try to be discreet.
Joshua adores it.
I ~think~ I sent it to the house. Should be there tomorrow.
We're doin' okay. Took the boys out to dinner (Nana is soft foodin' it whilst her dentures are irritating her).
We opted to hold off on ~the attic~ until Saturday.
What?!?!?!?!?! We LOVED Cars. In fact, we pretty much think it's the best thing Pixar has done. I mean, and that's just for the thought of "Larry the Cable Guy" and Paul Newman working together in the same sound studio.
You MUST see the "outtakes" during the credits.
I do admit, the part where the girl car is talking about Route 66 was pretty neat...cause Route 66 goes right through Tulsa...and all the way to California where Steve's brother lives (the one that used to be the doctor at Stanford U, but doesn't have a Mercedes or room for a pony.)
We've been saying all along that when we get the Beetle fixed, we're going to cruise down Route 66, go on a road trip on the Mother Road, you know...and see Steve's brother.
Good luck! Again.
Prayers sent. Hope all goes well in the next few hours.
Same for you too!
Hehehe... Talon and I went to see that on a date this summer. We got to literally the last five minutes of the movie and the fire alarms went off.
We're gonna have to rent that one of these days for just the last five minutes. I thought it was better than I'd expected.
You need to rent it just to watch the credits.
Well... doggone it... here I sit up in Bellevue, and yet again, I got bupkis.
There's no storm here. It rained *really* hard a couple of hours ago, but even that's dropped off now. Winds are nothing really. What's the deal?
Got the flashlights ready, got candles, got firewood... got bupkis.
Is it just me? :-)
Hair and Rosie are ominously quiet...
No kidding. We should get a Rosie update in a few hours, when she gets to work, if they've lost power.
crap. warmed. over.
You know the drill. I'd stay home except 1) have too much to do in Fangorn and 2) staying home means I just have to take care of Nana.
You left coasters check in when you can.
Sounds like the northwesters are having a Fran experience.
My head hurts... remnants of a cold have turned into sinus-y pressure and I hate getting up at 5.
At least it's Friday.
