"Guess" as a name is just impossibly crew. Like a real-life "Who's on first" skit.

I hate to say this, but one of the names poor, deluded Mr. Fairview proposed for our firstborn baby daughter is on that list.
When he suggested it my mother and I laughed ourselves into hysterics. I pointed out to the distinguished Mr. Fairview that the name would make our innocent baby sound like a stripper--you could really see it on the marquee of some "Gentleman's Club and Adult Toy Store." Furthermore it would sound stupid with "Ph.D." after it and everyone around the poor child would gag with laughter.
We ended up calling her something normal and English.

I can't, I'm too embarrassed. So is the young lady, who is grown up now and would strangle me in my bed if anybody found out! After all these years it still makes the whole family burst out laughing when someone brings up the subject. Even Mr. Fairview laughs at his own stupidity all those years ago.

Are we supposed to pick the names not in parenthesis or the ones IN parenthesis? I think I see a pattern here.

Panda Delilah (Kimya Dawson)Panda. I love it!
I approve the one who named a child "Silencia," though. (I assume they're Spanish-speaking.) People could get the idea that I have a child named "Silence," since I bellow it at the top of my powerful lungs so often :-).
