The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...

Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Well, that was quick. I went into your control panel and upgraded Wordpress to the latest version, and it seems to be loading fine again.

Hope it rains on muh flower seeds. Guess I shoulda planted something more useful but I’d have had to do some more shovel work or get the tiller serviced up first.

Yeah, we’ve got wind gusts to 34 mph, not really pleasant for gardening activities (sigh) LSA

OK, we’ve had breakfast now... give it maybe an hour or two to see if it stops drizzling?

Well, we did our bit for Earth Day yesterday. Started slashing and burning at noon, and finally doused the flames at about 4:30. We were just exhausted! We baked some frozen pizzas for supper, watched a bit of TV, then SirKit decided to 'lay down for little bit' about 8:00. He didn't wake up until about 8 this morning!

Don't know why, but I just couldn't get sleepy. Had to go out to get some milk, so I just did a full grocery run about 10:30. Got back and watched some old Law and Order episodes to clear them from the DVR, and ended up crashing about 3:30 am. Woke up aching all over. We're all going to just laze around today. Am fixing to have my third cup o coffee.

Happy Lenin's Birthday!

*Sigh*

How can one twelve-pound cat hog a whole couch?

Small Couch?

Any problems keeping the fire in the grill going?

Gypsy doesn’t care for wind even though it ruffles through her fur nicely. Maybe dinner will cheer her up. Actually food of any kind is always welcome.

Well she’s a long 12-pound kitty when she stretches out. And if she’s in the middle of the couch, there’s only a little room left at each end for me!

It took a little longer for the coals to get to the preferred ash stage but, other than that, the grillin’ went okay.

Sigh. The dandelions are getting uppity.

Well here's pictures from shooting today :~)

Rosie firing my .357. She really liked this gun... and it's probably the gun I'd recommend she get if she wants one. She fired mostly .38 through it, but she fired a couple .357 magnum too, so she could feel the difference.

Ramius firing his .45

ecurbh firing .45

The only one we got a picture shooting our new 30-30 was Rosie, so she'll have to model it for the group. I felt like I had 4 thumbs firing it at first, I'm not familiar at all with rifles, this may be only the second time I've ever fired one :~) But by the end I could shoot it and hit the target, and rifle a new round without bloodying my thumb. :~)

Ramius and his toy :~)

Everyone else with Ramius's toy :~)

The biker who really wanted to ride up and down the hill a bunch of people were shooting into...

All in all, a fun day :~)

heh - she must really stretch out, that’s a big couch you have.

Know what you mean about the dandylions, they are persistent little rascals.
