Two Georgia men survived a gruesome suicide attempt Friday after cutting their own arms off with a saw, reported Atlanta's Journal Constitution.
The 40 and 41-year-old men managed to remove three of their four arms, cutting them about six inches about their wrists, Atlanta Police Major Lane Hagin told the Journal.
The men left a suicide note with the manager of their apartment building saying they were killing themselves because they were recently diagnosed with HIV and their business had failed, according to police.
The men are in stable condition at a local hospital and will undergo psychiatric tests, a police spokesman said.

Someone didn't think this though. One guy was going to have to cut off his last arm by magic

No doubt that their inability to do adequate planning is why their business failed.

Oh great, HIV infected blood spewed all over the apartment.
Lemme guess, the owner of the 4th arm was nominated to dial 911.

Maybe this is the new "in-thing" like piercings, tatoos and brandings. Soon the shopping malls will be packed with kids wearing baggy pants and missing arms.

They were probably aware that wrist-slitting often fails, and figured a (power?) saw would do the job.

It really wouldn't surprise me what with the tongue splitting and the latest rage, where people impale their backs with a hook and hang from it. I forget the term for it.

...survived a gruesome suicide attempt Friday after cutting their own arms off with a saw... I think I finally understand. For the longest time I thought they had survived their suicide attempt because they cut their arms off. I was reading this article looking for some plan they'd put in motion to kill themselves, thinking they'd had second thoughts and escaped by cutting their arms off.
Now I see that they really are just stupid idiots who don't know how to do themselves in and have only made their lives that much more miserable.
To: Popman
Some may laugh.
But what despair these men must have been in.

But what despair these men must have been in. Let's see, they are going broke, they are gay, they are HIV
Life certainly can get very tough, but doing something as stupid and inane as this ?
So you compound your situation by committing suicide by cutting off your arm?
No, there is something way more bizarre going on here.

My guess is that they don't think. That's how they got the disease and they don't care about anyone else getting it. It's all about them after all.
