Daniel Smith Inquest Mired in Corruption

Corrupt judges and crooked lawyers could draw out the Daniel Smith inquest for years with nobody benefiting except the Bahamas legal “profession.”
The stalled inquest into the death of Daniel Smith may need an act of parliament to move it forward again, which could make proceedings drag on for many months, even years, a concerned jurist claimed yesterday.
One of the country’s leading jurists, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Tribune that if the judiciary had moved more speedily following the death of Daniel Smith in September of last year, many legal ramifications now being raised could have been avoided.
Just days after it began, the inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son Daniel came to a standstill last week when lawyers for Howard K Stern called the constitutionality of the Coroner’s Court into question.
Mr Stern’s legal counsel informed Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez - who is presiding over the inquest - that a constitutional motion had been filed with the Supreme Court which questions the lack of provisions in the Coroner’s Act to provide for an impartial jury.
However, the leading jurist said yesterday that there is no flaw in the Coroner’s Act, that the flaw is in fact with “those manning the legal system.”
“What should have happened was to hold the inquest very quickly, then you don’t have a contaminated jury pool. If anything gets out later you can’t blame the press because it’s their job to get the news out, that’s why you must deal with things quickly and speedily - so the weakness is not in the Act.
“When you have this kind of work to do, do it speedily and correctly then you wouldn’t have all these errors occurring, it would have been over long ago,” the jurist said.
During last week’s inquest proceedings Magistrate Gomez emphasised that the case of Daniel’s death has received immense world-wide media coverage and cautioned the allfemale jury not to heed any news reports, rumours, or gossip they may hear about the case.
However, Mr Stern’s lawyers are asking the Supreme Court to revise the provisions of the Coroner’s Act in such a way which would allow for lawyers to question potential jurors to determine their impartiality.
The concerned jurist speaking with The Tribune yesterday, “Supreme Court can only say ‘yes’, he (Chief Magistrate Gomez) has the right (to question jurors) or ‘no’, he does not have the right.”
“The Supreme Court can’t cure that, that can only be cured by an act of parliament, parliament has to amend it (the Coroner’s Act). Logistically, if parliament is going to amend a law it does not affect the whole running of the Coroner’s Court, but it does affect that particular case, that case can’t move until parliament has done that,” the jurist said.
The jurist said that there is no chance for such an amendment to happen in the near future as parliament is expected to be dissolved any day now in time for the general election.
“I think it will take a minimum of a year. Maybe a new government, whoever the government is, that can be a first on their agenda, if that is urgent, it may not be urgent,” the jurist said.
The Supreme Court is expected to make some sort of ruling on the application by Mr Stern’s lawyers by Wednesday.

Anna Nicole’s Nannies Sing a New Tune
New testimony indicates that Shane Gibson knowingly and willingly violated immigration laws to illegally accommodate Anna Nicole Smith and Howard Stern.
Two former nannies to the late Anna Nicole Smith’s infant daughter have come forward to correct statements attributed to them, and to make additional charges in the affair that is grabbing headlines around the world.
Ms Quethlie Alexis and Mrs Nadine Alexie, both represented by their attorney Elizabeth Thompson, of Elizabeth E M Thompson & Co, have recently sworn affidavits contradicting a previous affidavit attributed to Ms Alexis regarding the relationship between Ms Smith, and the former Minister of lmmigration Shane Gibson, and the former playmate’s relationship with Howard K Stern.
Both affidavits were signed and sworn on March 30, 2007. During their tenure at Horizon’s, Ms Alexis and Mrs Alexie report that they worked from 8:00am to 10:00pm and from 10:00pm to 8:00am respectively. The two former employees claim to have intimate knowledge of the workings of the home, who visited, the state of mind of Anna Nicole and her health, her interaction with Mr Stern, and that of the former minister of Immigration.
However, the pair are in fear for their safety. Ms Alexis, who admits to working illegally at the Horizon’s home for three months said that she made that fact clear to the former minister in her signed affidavit. She claims that the minister assured her that once her documentation at the Ministry of lmmigration had been processed and approved and subsequently expired, he would have the permit transferred into Anna Nicole Smith’s name. Ms Alexis further claims that the work permit was issued by the Department of Immigration in January 2007.
Speaking on behalf of her clients, Ms Thompson said that she is very concerned that something might happen to them as they are also poised to testify in the upcoming Coroner’s Inquest into the death of Daniel Smith - Anna Nicole’s son.
“There is much more of this story to tell that needs to be told. Some of the issues that they raise, not much of it has been released to the public,” she said.
Ms Thompson said that her clients have information that will shed light on where Anna Nicole wished to bury her son, Daniel, and her “reported” relationship with Howard K Stern.
Also, Ms Thompson said, her clients have information on the amount of prescription drugs that were allegedly in the home, and Ms Smith’s state of mind shortly before her death.
A camera interview with the women will air on Controversy TV on Cable 12 at 10:00pm Thursday, April 5.

Last week it was reported several times that Baird could not be there for court on Tuesday 4/3. (this was on the same day Stern actually filed his appeal)
I don’t know why they would actually need Baird - why not send another expert from the same lab to be in court today?

I laughed when I saw the name of that TV station in that article.
I'm sure that Stern wasn't allowing anyone that room who could possibly talk to Anna, such as the maids. Basing this on the theory that she was being held hostage there because she wanted to call for help to get free from Stern.
Which is why i wonder about the phone situation. Did she have her cell phone? Did she make any calls from the phone in the room? I do remember a friend (well a woman who claimed she was her friend on CNN via phone just hours after Anna died) saying she spoke to Anna while she was in FLA and Anna told her that she wasn't allowed out of the room. That could be a statement by Anna that she was being held hostage or maybe she was so drugged she didn't know why she wasn't allowed out. Probably someone was standing over her listening to what she said to make sure she didn't say something wrong. But in that interview I remember distinctly that the "friend" said nothing about Anna being sick. In fact, she said that Anna was complaining that she wanted to go out.

They had the expert testify before the swabs were taken. The tests are probably notarized and signed off each step of the way...What more do they need?
They could just call Baird up, and have him confirm the findings "via live teleconference".

Did we ever confirm whether or not King Eric and Brig were staying in a separate room? Because i believe Moe and Tas took up in the second room in Annas suite. And i suspected that when they all met unexpectedly in the lobby that that other room (across the hall) was the one they went to. You know, HKS coulda walked them to their room and said "oh Anna is resting right now. she hasn't been feeling well. you'll see her later."
With all the vomit and other mess in the room, I doubt Brig wouldn't have gotten suspicious earlier if she had been staying in the same suite as them.
CTV is getting on my nerves. The nurse hacked up her husband. No need to televise that trail. She's guilty as sin.

The way i heard it explained on TV was that the duffel bag was in the second room in the suite which means she would've had to walk thru the parlor area to the other room to get the CH. That is KE's room, which later became Moe/Tas room. The duffel bag must've still been in there. It's not like Moe didnt' know about that bag.
It just dawned on me. Moe didn’t do a eulogy at Annas funeral did he? That’s kind of strange. No wonder he was po’d at Howard. Was he relegated to being nothing better than the bodyguard even at the funeral?

Does the rash make rings or non perfect circles or worm S shaped like lines?
If so... it could be ringworm (which not a parasite) but a fungus type rash which is related to athletics foot but can be on any area of the body. It can flare up and reside on a daily basis. If you picture google ringworm - you will see what severe cases of it looks like, but he might have a mild case of it and it won't be so obvious as the pictures on google show. Ringworm is pretty common.
