Hi, Nully,
Things here are much improved. The Great One is finally doing rather well following the heart surgery two years ago and all the complications that followed. After a couple trips to Mt View for some vascular work to improve circulation, The GO now walks with much greater ease. That is to say, his legs don't crap out on him. The neuropathy from diabetes won't go away but he can deal with that. I finally feel a little like my head may be above water now.

Evenin' y'all. Ask me how many things I can think of that I'd rather be doing tonight than studying. I hate tests! I have about eaten my weight in chocolate this week. They keep it right under our noses at all times and use it to bribe us for answers...all the while stressing that bribery is inappropriate to use in the forensic interview. *Sigh"* My powers of resistance only go so far, and I'm not doing well this week at all. The upside is that there is a fitness center in the hotel, which I am happy to report that I have used faithfu;lly since we've been here. This is over tomorrow afternoon and I have a hair appointment to help me relax after the stress of the week.

This place is full of distractions....a Starbucks right across the parking lot, an open air mall just across the highway....with a Sephora's and all the good stores. I've done well. Only went to the mall once. Bought a pair of shoes. Hey, they were SO cute and the only pair in my size. Besides; they were $100 shoes marked down to $19. What's a girl to do? I had no choice. I HAD to buy them. Now I just need to buy something to wear them with.

I need about about a week just to sit in front of the computer and play, without having to think about anything else. Not likely to happen, but it's a nice fantasy. Of course, I can think of others.

How's everybody's week?

I'm so sorry to hear of your dad, and especially that you weren't able to get there before he passed. May God's peace be with you in your sorrow.

Hi Sweets! Things on this end are going fine. Not nearly as hectic as what you have to deal with, thank goodness. I feel frazzled just reading your post! Glad you're finding the time to spoil yourself a little with the chocolates and the shoes. You've worked hard for it and you deserve it!
Having your hair done sounds like something I need to do. I hate it though. I hate for anybody to mess with my head. Every time I get a haircut, I hate it. I've got the waves going on and it's hard to cut, but you'd think SOMEBODY out there knows how to do it right. Just gotta find him/her by trial and error, I guess.
Hopefully you'll get some rest-time soon and come and play with us a bit. Glad you stopped in Sweets, it was great to see you! :)

Dad was an agnostic, and always wanted proof of things, so Val fixed up a set of hankies, 6 cotton ones for Monday through Saturday, and a silk one for Sunday, embroderied with verses and the day of the week. She wrote on the instructions, "Place this hankie over the affected part of the body, and while touching that part repeat emphatically 'I hope this works!' " This came with the disclaimer, "Do not fail to seek medical attention in the event this is not effective." She then gift wrapped these in a box labeled "Anointed Hankies" and sent them to Dad for Christmas. Here he is, trying one.

Dorothy wanted the hospital to list "Stubbornness" as the cause of death, he died 2 days before his annual doctor's visit.

Have a look at a slideshow my daughter and her husband put together on the ice mountain. He wants to do a web site for me.

LOL. I'm convinced that the only reason my parents are both still alive is that neither one wants to give the other the satisfaction of going first...
