This is the initial Righters Ping List, in alphabetical order.
Normally, a ping list is used to alert folks on FR to articles that would be of interest to them. While this ping list will be like that, I'm hoping that as time goes on it will become more. What I would kind of like to see happen is have this thing turn into a kind of writer's workshop, a place where folks could come to learn from each other. I know I could use that kind of help.
If anyone has any good ideas to that end, or any other ideas, feel free to post them.
Also, if anyone needs access to the ping list, it can be found on my FR page.
Please add me to your (w)righters ping list.
Please add my screenname to the ping list.
Not a chance pph. I have to back off a lot as it is to let my posts get past the censor and little would remain of the real stuff. :)
Wow! What would you like to see? Opening few paragraphs or some dialogue. I would love the critique, so tell me what you would like to see.
I remember when I used to attend a writer's class, we would do that. Of course FR isn't the place for some of the things I heard in that class. It would get pulled pdq. lol
It's been over eleven years since I looked at it. When our last child was born I put it away. Taking care of a disabled child and taking time out to write doesn't mix.
No, you are right, the two don't mix. But I hope you get to return to it one day.
Thank you, so do I. I've thought about it a million times since I stored. When she's older...
Please add me to the *PING*! list.
I write religious stuff and some political analysis...mostly poetry. I don't know if that's exactly what you're interested in.

I have written everything posted by me but message #3 on this thread:

Hey, it's great that someone made this ping list. I also look forward to all of it.
Here's an excerpt from one of my bazzilion novel projects. I do have one novel, several short stories, and a few comics published.
Later!
CHAPTER TWO
"No, Sonny, that isn't it at all," the gray haired man said, the merest hint of a frown on his deeply tanned face. "Remember the river, Sonny, the river must be in your mind."
"This is hard gramps," the boy cried out. "Those rocks really hurt!"
"Pain builds character. Pain tells you what's wrong with you. Pain is your friend. Now, concentrate!"
A narrow chute supported on trellises ran down the hill and came to an abrupt stop some six feet above the lazy, brackish waters of the Ringo River. The boy with corn silk hair and tanned molasses skin stood in the water up to his waist. The chute towered over his head.
Sonny wiped the blood from his forehead on his forearm. The devilishly hot Frenance sun was nearly unbearable, even to those long used to it.
"The river, Sonny, the river."
Standing on the banks of the Ringo, Gramps pulled on the rope he held in his hand. This opened a gate on the chute, which allowed a flow of egg-sized rocks to roll down. On their descent, the rocks hit a lip on the edge of the chute that caused them to jump in erratic paths.
"Don't strike, Sonny, flow! Flow!"
Sonny allowed his vision to relax, and his muscles to loosen. Standing in the water forced him to focus on his upper body movements.
The rocks fell. Spinning in deadly arcs, they rained down on the shirtless boy.
As Sonny concentrated, the rocks seemed to slow in their descent. Twisting his torso and swinging his arms, he moved between the rocks, putting on a display of graceful agility that eventually seemed to satisfy Gramps, who finally closed the chute.
I'd like to be added to the writers list. I do all my writing on writing.com.
Thanks, Shimmer, for the heads up on this thread.
