O.J. Simpson thrown out of steakhouse Owner says he is sickened by the attention Simpson still receives LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The owner of an upscale steakhouse in Louisville said he asked O.J. Simpson to leave his restaurant the night before the Kentucky Derby because he is sickened by the attention Simpson still attracts. “I didn’t want to serve him because of my convictions of what he’s done to those families,” Jeff Ruby said in a telephone interview Tuesday. “The way he continues to torture the lives of those families ... with his behavior, attitude and conduct.” Simpson, an NFL Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner, was found innocent in 1995 of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman but was found liable in a civil trial that followed. Ruby — who owns restaurants in Cincinnati, Louisville and Belterra, Ind. — said Simpson, who was in town for the Derby on Saturday, came in with a group of about 12 Friday night and was seated at a table in the back.

Too close to a steak knife was he?
Good for him! KY stands up again, for what is right. He made KY proud.
Takes guts to refuse service. The first thing someone will do is run to their lawyer.
hope he got his steak knife back....
“We reserve the right to refuse service to convicted murderers.”
I thought he only late at night at the drive thru window at McDonald’s?
Someone here has cajones.
The other option was to let him stay, but give him a plastic knife and spork.
I want to know what steak house this was! I will gladly pay toi patronize the establishment of someone with character!
Nmind - just found it - Ruby’s, right next to the Galt House!
I Applaud him!
I actually lived in Louisville from late 1996 to mid-2002; and during that time, Rush Limbaugh actually mentioned during one of his broadcasts that he had visited Louisville during the previous weekend and visited an absolutely outstanding steakhouse - and I believe Ruby’s was the place...just from memory, mind you, but I recall wishing that I had known that he was in town, so that I could have also dined there that night and had a chance dinner or cigar time encounter with El Rushbo...

Louisville is Home - and I will make it a point to at the very least, buy a drink there, and toast Ruby’s very good health!
He should’ve given him a special menu where everything cost $33.5 million dollars
I don’t think it was just the steak knife. Maybe it was the way he put on a glove before picking it up.
I like the way you think!!!
I’m sorry, but Ruby was practicing discrimination, pure and simple.
Change the players in this little drama and you can easily prove it to yourself. Simpson was convicted in a civil case not a criminal case.
I’m not saying I agree or disagree with the criminal decision, but it was in Kalifornia (wasn’t it), the same state in which a jury found Michael Jackson innocent on 12 or 13 different charges, involving child molestation, a couple of years ago.
