1978-U.S. release of Dire Straits first single "Sultans of Swing."

1978-Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr play together for the first time since the break-up of The Beatles, at the wedding reception of Eric Clapton and Patti Boyd. Clapton, Mick Jagger, and Ginger Baker joined in.

Birthdays include:

Pete Townshend, b. 1945 (he didn't die before he got old!)

Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, b.1949

Joey Ramone, b.1952

Dire Straits-Sultans of Swing

Pete Townshend-Pinball Wizard

The Ramones-Blitzkrieg Bop

YouTube really is amazing for finding old classics.
How about some old glam wackiness?

I have three or four Sparks albums on vinyl, haven't listened to them in years. I didn't know they were still around. I didn't see too much of the old stuff on YouTube.

Yes. Dave Grohl, Foo Fighter founder, singer, and guitarist, was also the drummer for Nirvana.

He used to have a show on XM called Crossroads. That was cancelled. He also shows up regularly on CMT in the “greatest hits of xxxxx” series.
