Houston-based KBR was awarded an initial $385 million contract in January 2006 for one year, with four one-year options extended into 2007. KBR held a previous emergency detention contract with ICE from 2000 to 2005.
ICE spokeswoman Jamie Zuieback told Corsi the primary intent of the contract was to build temporary detention facilities that could be used in the event of a mass migration crisis, but she confirmed the facilities could be employed in national emergencies, including natural disasters.

I’m gone!
LOL!
We've got two of these on Coon Lake up here. They'll be part of the July 4th parade...
James is toilet trained - he just doesn’t always have his direction correction.
Yee-haw! You’ve reached the Undead Thread and you didnevennowit!
Nobody’s here but me and the dust bunnies, so have a glass of a tasty red wine (French, but don’t tell anyone) and ... dust something, if the fit hitsya.
Coon Lake. Has a spot on the July 4th festivities and includes film footage of the pirate ships.
Oopps... Pete's upset again. Gotta run...
4th of July pirate ships. Cool beans. Any longships, running on the oars, that kinda thing?
Good luck with the kid. We just got the Usurper to bed a few minutes ago.
Quantum non-locality? Is that like time travel? lol
Night, all. Candle party was a success. No rain, so Anoreth gets a second fish.
I think he’s in Central Daylight, but when you have a baby, time xones are Relative, barely. When did I sleep last?
Not yet. I've located two donor pontoon boats. Need to procure them and draw up plans.
Both of the Coon Lake pirate ships are armed with water cannon. I'll need something to retaliate with. I'm thinking a main pump and monitor off a firetruck if I can find one in a bone yard.
Gotta dash... G'Night...
Kewl! I’m sure you can make it float and flood.
Hope you and the Mrs. get enough sleep to survive ... I almost remember what it was like a year ago!
Well, in summer, days of the week are relative too, or at least they are to me lol.
Tomorrow is Wednesday. Anoreth has Bible study at 7:00 p.m., pick up at 8:30.
And we may see the eponymous cat before we trip over her and hurt our foot again.
If it lives forever we all deserve a drink
The original Undead Thread ran 65,000+ posts, but since then, the Powers That Mod have asked us to move around more often, for the Programming.
And now for real, Good night, Undead, and all the ships at sea.
Yup, glad to be here, and hours sooner than I'd thought.
Just as I was about to click on post for the previous message (from the hotel lobby), I saw a shuttle outside. Almost 15 minutes early, but I thought it might be mine so I finished the post, shut down the laptop, stuck it in my backpack and was in front of the lobby doors when my cellphone buzzed. It was the driver outside.
Not really happy at being so early (the airport is *tiny*, the gates crowded, and no wi-fi), but it was better than being late. So we were off to the airport.
Went to check in at the kiosk but the agent intervened and told me there was space on a preceding flight, was I interested? Well, of course -- this would put me in 2 hours earlier!
Had a time getting through the security check, what with a lot of people who are definitely not frequent-flyers, and one who I think had never encountered a magnetometer before (metal everywhere, including the steel chain on his wallet, and he didn't seem to grasp the idea that he needed to remove various things to get through) but if so, hey, he's the lucky one who doesn't have to fly!
36 hours and we're on the road again. Literally, this time.
