Houston-based KBR was awarded an initial $385 million contract in January 2006 for one year, with four one-year options extended into 2007. KBR held a previous emergency detention contract with ICE from 2000 to 2005.
ICE spokeswoman Jamie Zuieback told Corsi the primary intent of the contract was to build temporary detention facilities that could be used in the event of a mass migration crisis, but she confirmed the facilities could be employed in national emergencies, including natural disasters.

Morning, Kiddies!
A hole in the roof....
That could cause lots of things to escape. Fix it quick, Bob!

I don’t think I have ever slept as contentedly as I did when I slept under a new roof on my house in the rain. Roof leaks can be the most frustrating thing to deal with (find and fix), let alone the damage the water does.
Have fun with that—an adventure it will be!

I love the sound of rain of the roof. But once upon a time, Igor and I spent a couple of years as volunteers for the US Forest Service, and one summer, we were parked on a beach in Oregon.
That year, we had three weeks of rain. No break. All day. All night. We were living in a 5th wheel. It was Chinese Water Torture, in my opinion. Another reason to live in the desert.

The rain last night disclosed a leak in my roof. I guess I know now what Ill be doing for my next adventure. Dodging buckets?

I love the sound of rain of the roof. Me too. Even our first house, a flat-roofed cabin in the woods in the Santa Cruz mountains. Sometimes it would be so loud that conversation became impossible. But we managed.

Yah...a tin roof on a 5th wheel really does something for the sound of “rain on the roof.”

We put an enclosed patio up in our back yard a couple of years ago—Aluminum.....When it rains with any kind of force, you can hear it through the whole house.
And then there’s the sunroof in my bathroom in my bedroom—I usually sleep with the door open, but when it rains it gets rather loud. I still like the sound, though.

It’s “white noise.” Which is probably why lots of people like it. It allows them to think without distraction. Or sleep. ;o]

Your mountains stop a lot of the rain we could get. That’s why this is a desert. It’s all your fault! LOL!

Things are busy, as usual. Between keeping the machines running, the paperwork, and all the rest of the goings on, not too much time left over. But the day goes by fast.
