During an April raid of Vick's property in Virginia, authorities seized 66 dogs and equipment commonly used in dog fighting.
The indictment handed down Tuesday against Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and three others describes in detail how they procured a property in Virginia for the purpose of staging dogfights, bought dogs and then fought them there, and in several other states, over a 6-year period. With at least three cooperating witnesses providing the details, federal authorities compiled a detailed case that traces the birth and rise of Bad Newz Kennels.
But not a single line in the 18-page indictment will generate more rage toward Vick and the others charged -- Purnell A. Peace, Quanis L. Phillips and Tony Taylor -- than a sentence near the end. It reads: "In or about April of 2007, Peace, Phillips and Vick executed approximately eight dogs that did not perform well in 'testing' sessions at 1915 Moonlight Road by various methods, including hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."

I completely disagree.
We are NOT becoming more civilized, we are becoming more politically correct. CIVILIZED cultures stand and fight for themselves and their families, culture and country. Are we doing that?
Civilized human beings do not DO the things Vick and his ilk do to animals. These dogs are being treated savagely, by brutal men. It cannot be excused, condoned, or God help us- regulated.
There are plenty of events for people to bet on if that’s what they like for fun- they do NOT have to involve feeding the worse instincts in us.
I’m no bleeding heart either- I well understand life can be cruel, often unfair, and killing is sometimes necessary. For protection or survival- not for sport.
Some think horse racing is cruel. Some think the military is cruel. Some think childhood sports are cruel. It’s all a matter of perspective. The south is a place of harder people with harder beliefs and standards. These are the people that populate our military. These are the people that practice dog fighting sports and cock fighting sports. WE should not force them to be soft. Maybe we should force ourselves to be harder.

You left out development of the blood lust by furnishing these brutes with furry little practice animals. We can never get enough of these harmless little creatures since the greyhound dog racing breeders have been snapping them up for years...that’s right little lady. So if you or any freepers have a line on a good source where we may procure same let me know.
