We have high speed internet (cable connection in the wall) via our cable company and over the last 10 days, our internet connection has been going out.
For several of those days, it would go out at the same time but the connection would come back within 5-10 minutes.
Now, it is happening at other times.
I have checked my modem which sits next to the computer so I can see those lights when they go out and eventually blink back at me and the wire connections are all good.
Any clue as to what this may be? We have never had problems before this.
I had a similar problem and bought a new modem. Still had the problem. The cable repair guy finally came and found a sunken pin on the cable wire!
So check for sunken pins!
Hahaha
Could I gt a link to all these sites you posted.
Had trouble with a new modem, hubby had moved it around on desk and had it sitting on one of those cord holder things,in the corner of the desk, made of metal.
Got the modem too hot, took me a while to figure out what the heck happened.
Put modem on its side away from anything else generating heat.
Worth a try.
Thanks, I already copied and pasted it in my mail and sent it to myself. Make sense, lol.
Had the same problem. The cable TV never failed, but the Internet would go out at 10:00AM and I couldn’t get it back till after 5:00PM. When I called the cable company, they would walk me through the usual reset procedures which I eventually ended up doing myself. Still, I couldn’t get it back till after 5:00PM.
It turned out that there were so many splitters and couplers being used throughout the house that the cable guy just re-routed everything. Hasn’t failed since.
