Okaw Valley Council - Crooked Creek District - Pack 39 - Bear Den assistant leader bump.

Just a side story on scouting - If any of ya’ll saw the June 13 episode of Letterman - during the “Small Town News” segment - which is usually reserved for funny stuff - he mixed it up for a moment and put up a shot of a young scout kissing a snake on a dare from his cubmaster - that kid is my son - neat huh? (Letterman’s show subscribes to our small town paper.)

I didn’t even get to see it - but people in my small town did - and of course it was a big hit with the district and the council.

OK, an idea for a Labor Day Den BBQ, have some Arizona fun. Let the Bears cook their own hot dogs on a stick while the Baked Beans (we prefer refried beans) are staying hot. When the Hot Dogs are done, each Bear gets a plate with the beans and the hot dog goes into an 8’ soft flour tortilla with shredded cheese, diced onions, chopped fresh tomatoes, shredded lettuce. Roll it up like a Burrito (looks like an oversize Chinese egg roll). The Bears no longer are having Hot Dogs they are having Chihuahuas.

wait until PETA hears about this! Sounds good but you forgot the salsa. Would work good for Cinco de Mayo too.

It’s silly so the Cub Scouts laugh and remember it.
