Loch Ness monster sightings down
Associated Press ^ | October 2, 2007

Fewer people are reporting sightings of the legendary Loch Ness monster in Scotland, prompting concerns that skepticism about its existence could threaten tourism in the region.

There have only been two reports of sightings this year, compared to three in 2006 and much lower than a decade ago, when the annual number sightings was consistently in the double digits, The Times newspaper said Saturday.

"It's becoming a potential crisis," said Mikko Takala, 39, a founding member of the Loch Ness Monster Fan Club who runs four webcams on the lake's north shore.

Nessie got sick of waiting for 50 years in the Loch for fin enhancement surgery from the National Monster Health Service and moved to Hyannisport and now plays a Ted Kennedy look-alike in the local comedy club.

Fer a hundred quid, I’ll testify that I saw Nessie tap-dancin’ to “I’ve Got a Lovely Bunch o’ Coconuts.”

The nitrogen levels of the loch became too high because of all of the unicorns pooping near its shore.

Funny you should post this. I was just looking at a photo I took at Loch Ness last month. There is a strange dark object which I can't identify (marked with red arrow).

I think it moved to Texas. One day, Mr. M and I were sitting out on the dock when something poked it’s head out of the water and looked at us.

Fresh water or salt? What part of the state?

Perhaps it was a bowfin (called a grinnel in TX). I caught one in the San Jacinto River once. I cut this out from the link below: "The ability to breathe air is attained early in life and is used most frequently at night and when water temperature is high, coinciding with periods of greatest activity. The bowfin is able to survive prolonged air breathing periods. Young bowfin have been observed surviving for 21 days in a pond with no standing water. "

http://www.vernonweb.com/bowfin.htm

Read the comments section by people that have caught them and you'll see a lot of them are in TX, and they also relate their tendancy to come up out of the water. Neat fish, over 150 million years old.

Get the Clintons back in the white house and the Loch Ness Monster will come out of hiding quite frequently.
