If you are paying an Internet company to do your job for you, you shouldn’t be surprised if they cut corners in the interest of efficiency. ;)

I say you should be able to screen by any criteria you want, its your money and life or have I fallen asleep and Hillary won and we have to date whomever the government picks. I suspect that the author's real complaint is about eHarmony not dealing with homosexuals, and that the other stuff is just window dressing. JMO.

"eHarmony allows clients to discriminate on the race of potential mates."Since when did we lose the right to choose who our partner may be, you know, the right to free association? I thought my law school was terrible when it came to teaching Constitutional Law, but it appears Yale now has it beat. A scary insight to what this strain of socialists would impose on us if they ever got control.

They should start HomoHarmony and be done with it.

I won’t date Bama or Tennessee fans, period. Georgia fans had better put out by the second date or they’re history.

As a “white man” who prefers Latin and middle eastern women, I believe I am well within my rights to discriminate in choosing a mate.

What’s funny is that on my street here in suburban Dallas-Fort Worth, we are represented by graduates from Florida, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Georgia. Needless to say our block parties on weekends are very interesting.

I’ll bet they are. I used to live in Baytown, myself, and I have a sister in McKinney, up your way, and a brother in Plano.
Had to move back, though. Missed the Bama barbecue at Archibald's, and couldn’t find anything comparable in the Houston area. :)

If the dating service is a private company, they should screen (or give screening options) as they see fit. [Note that this goes against personal natural tendency on this subject].
However, once a match is found, and if a picture is supplied, dater 'a' doesn't have to choose to actually go on a date with dater 'b' if dater 'a' does not want to.

eHarmony allows clients to discriminate on the race of potential mates. Think about it. eHarmony is a for-profit company that takes $50 from black clients and refuses to treat them the same (match them with the same people) as some white clients.
There's two different issues here from what I can see. One is that eHarmony allows clients to decide a racial preference and yet this author says that eHarmony is not treating blacks the same as whites by prohibiting them from choosing whites?
You can't say that allowing soemone to make their own choices is the same as prohibiting someone from doing something.
