Fox News | 10/12/07

Al Gore just on Fox. We have a "global emergency" and Gore is dedicating himself to saving the world.

You couldn't make this stuff up.

I'm not Al, but yes, it does when the glass is full and a significant amount of each ice cube protrudes above the surface.

Wrong. Ice floats because it displaces a volume of water equal to its weight. So if the ice melts, its volume reduces to the initial displaced volume - so the water level does not rise.

We won't defeat the global warming alarmists with folk science.

Make sure you have your own facts straight first.

Right, which is why I said anything on the ground, which is what has to be true to even start down the path of the Al Gore Pathology...

Does anyone else on this thread recall when Ted Danson appeared before a democrat controlled committee of Congress and said that the “oceans will be dead in 10 years”?

I think that was The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, not congress.

Odd, NASA just last week concluded the Arctic ice cap was normal and had only shrunk in size due to strong Polar Winds. The Antarctic ice cap was at record size. Notice the Goracle never talks about the Antarctic ice cap when they spell out doom.

If the data doesn’t fit, do what Democrats do best, lie.

Here’s another one of my favorite predictions gone bad:

“We will bury you.”

-Nikita Kruschev

Now THERE was a prediction!...and a tip of the hat to Al “We’re All Gonna Die Soon” Gore!

Let me guess, the suck-up doing the interview didn’t ask him about the 9 lies a British court said were in his film ?

Only good thing in all of this, is the rage the Rapist is feeling today, because Gore is stealing the spotlight and came up with the Peace prize, before the Norwegian politicians who make the decision could twist something the Sink Emperor did into an award

I am not so sure that is true. I have done the ice cube/glass of water thing in the past and the water level always fell.

I shall redo tonight and cram with as much ice as I can and get as much ice above the water as I can. But I will not pile ice ontop of ice already protruding from the water. With careful balance, you could easily stack far in excess of the glasses capacity just in ice out of the water.

I’m predicting more like in 23 years, 3 months, 5 days 6 hours and 23 minutes from now.

significant amount of each ice cube protrudes above the surface.

And it would be impossible to have a significant amount of "each" ice cube above water. The majority of the ice is going to be below the water if you fill the glass with ice.

And to have any amount of each cube out of the water, you can only put in a few cubes, and the water level is guaranteed to fall.

Sure he's betting on it. He's betting that in 20 years, all the money he's making off of this ("I'm carbon-neutral.") will have him and his progeny set for 5 generations. When he's proved wrong, he can point to how his influence caused changes in society and now the "window of doom" has been extended.

Fat Al's gonna get paid Big time.

Also, a very interesting aspect of water is that it is the only liquid on the planet that expands when it freezes. All others contract and sink. If water acted like every other liquid on the planet, there would be no life on the planet. Imagine all bodies of water freezing from the bottom up!

Never found much use for a big hunk of ice up there anyway. I say, let’s build a nice floating shopping mall.

23 years. That sounds like the senator in the Manchurian Candidate claiming there exactly 57 communists in the defense department.

My work computer doesn't have flash or whatever it is. Rush Limbaugh has Algore's Doomsday Clock on his web site and a previous prediction, proclimation, determination, we are all gonna die statement has the earth ending far before his current 23 year statement.

Someone with flash go to rushlimbaugh.com and get the current countdown to the end of the earth as stated by Algore.

Thanks!

The next time a ball game gets rained out during the September stretch run, you can curse the momentary worthlessness of those tickets in your pocket. Or you can wonder why it got rained out — and ask yourself why practice had to be called off last summer on a day when there wasn’t a cloud in the sky; and why that Gulf Coast wharf where you used to reel in mackerel and flounder no longer exists; and why it’s been more than one winter since you pulled those titanium skis out of the garage.

Global warming is not coming; it is here. Greenhouse gases — most notably carbon dioxide produced by burning coal, oil and gas — are trapping solar heat that once escaped from the Earth’s atmosphere. As temperatures around the globe increase, oceans are warming, fields are drying up, snow is melting, more rain is falling, and sea levels are rising.
