'Lions' doesn't roar - Users crush "Lions for Lambs," and critics aren't too kind, either.

I thought you all may enojoy reading the CRUSHING reviews from the regular movie audience of Robert Redford's new anti-America flick "Lions for Lambs." How Hollywood can contiue to dishonor our U.S. Armed Forces is simply beyond me. Anyway, at least these reviews by regular folks shows that real America is rejecting this nonsense.

Some reviews: (more reviews at the link)

Pure Garbage.....

I had the opportunity to see this last week during a free screening (my wife got the tickets through work). I think I was robbed. About 20% of the audience walked out before it was over, the only reason I didn't was because my wife fell asleep! (Not kidding)

Typical Hollywood Lefty Anti-American Screed. When will these people get back to making entertaining movies, not pushing a Political Agenda? I sometimes wonder if they are even capable of doing so anymore.

Don't waste you time or money ....

Even at free preview price not worth cost...

Who do I talk to about being compensated for the 88 minutes of my life that are lost?

Yet another regurgitation of the same old America bad, everyone else is their victims agitprop of the left. There were several points in the film obviously intended to be intense, high drama moments but everything went so went so far over the top with the anti-American sentiment the result was audible laughter and moaning in the audience. By the time the closing credits started to roll close to a third of the theater had already emptied.

If Hollywood wants to know why it'd box office numbers continue to decline this is a perfect example of why. If you're a member of Code Pink I'm sure you'll see this film as high art and that pretty much sums up why any rational person should save their money and time. Not even worth a DVD rental.

Hollywood should be Ashamed

What ever happened to John Wayne films that make you feel good about your country. John's been replaced by a hate-filled, atheist, social elitists who can't stand anything about America except that the pay is good to bash it!

Well, I looked at the IMDB.com's studio briefing, where they compile what critics say about a movie. Here is what I found:

Supporters of the war in Iraq have surprisingly found most of the nation's major film critics on their side. The critics have come down heavily on the anti-war film Lions for Lambs, with many of them warning that it is fatally boring. Carina Chocano in the Los Angeles Times comments that it "looks like a stage play and plays like a policy debate." Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times writes that "there is a long stretch toward the beginning of the film when we're interested, under the delusion that it's going somewhere. When we begin to suspect it's going in circles, our interest flags." Says Kyle Smith in the New York Post: "I went to a wartime thriller, but then a Poli Sci 101 seminar broke out." Similarly Ann Hornaday remarks in the Washington Post: "For all its passion and topical currency, Lions for Lambs plays too often like a college colloquium, with one extended scene of a classroom debate suffering from all the sleep-inducing effects of the real thing." Looking at the movie from a Canadian perspective, Geoff Pevere in the Toronto Star writes: "A lumpy, ill-dramatized and ultimately enervating liberal Op-Ed piece flailing for dramatic purchase, this steroid-inflated Sundance workshop may prove most effective as a demonstration (as opposed to an antidote) of the political desperation that hamstrings the American middle-left."

It’s good to see that the film critics hate it too!

I read yesterday that the theory is that the Iraq war is too fresh in the minds for people to want to go to see a film about it. That’s the main reason given for the disappointing attendance. I submit that if the movie were pro-American people would flock to it. These movies are just anti-American and the public is tired of it.

The real news here is that the film critics and the general public actually agree on something!

I usually use film critics to avoid movies. If they like them, then I avoid them, and vice versa (well, most of the time).

just makes one want to dance...

There seems to be the beginning of a sea change in America - several surprising turns lately.

If we can really cut down on the voter fraud in 08 - the country may be shocked to find it really isn't a 50/50 country after all - not without the dead, illegal and double voters...

BTW, if you want to see a REAL war film - watch

ABC NIGHTLINE monday nite , 40 minutes - 11:35 eastern time

-

It's 4 months of filming in the remote mountains of north eastern Aghanistan with "The Rock" - of the 2/503rd 173rd Airborne Task Force - Battle co...(NOTE: Ted Kopel had NOTHING to do with the filming - thank God...they had some decent embeds)

"THE ROCK"

Ya, like I would even take a free ticket.....

Call it for what it is, a waste of resources and net generator of carbon dioxide (that should tweek the greenies)

My favorite two reviews, out of the first 20:

“America is bad bad bad. That’s you’d get from this garbage. Why would you want to pay $10 for crap like this when you can watch MSNBC’s Olberman... “

“I swear, this must have been written by Bill, and Hillary Clinton. I went into this open minded, but this boring, self-promoting, self-indulgence piece of garbage had me wishing for a cyanide pill to stop the pain. This was pure CRAP! I swear; it was like being locked into a room, tied-down, and forced to listen to Randi Rhodes (The fat drunk who told people she was mugged, then confessed she was hammered and fell) from Air America. It’s beyond me why these successful actor feel it’s important to preach to me how bad America is when we all know it’s the greatest country on earth. If it’s so BAD, why is everybody trying to come here? If it’s so bad, why don’t they (Hollywood’s’ elitist) just all flock to Europe? “

“What ever happened to John Wayne films that make you feel good about your country?”

Damn good question. Just how difficult would it be to make an independent, pro-USA movie anyway?

The problem is that they are not anti-American enough. And they don’t have a high enough budget. Robert Redford should finance the sequel personally, or maybe collaborate with Sean Penn. And load up on special effects. Yes, they’re expensive, but they’re worth it. What matters is to raise awareness, not to meet some capitalistic expectation of the bottom line.

They couldn’t PAY ME enough to see such hate-America dreck (unless I just wanted material to write a review excoriating this loser). I’m sure Redford and all his leftist pals are comforting each other on this disaster by saying the American public simply isn’t up to their elevated tastes and insight and sophistication....... but when even leftists like Ebert are panning the thing then you know the film is just plain DULL as well as being an America-bashing treason fest.

Looking at Friday's figures, I see that both Fred Claus's and Bee Movie's receipts more than doubled those of this dreary piece of agitprop. Redford's tin ear is again a source of amusement.

I don’t understand this facination Hollywood has with these flicks. They always bomb. Just as a good Chuck Norris special ops war fick always makes money. Had one come out now it would be one of the big holiday season successes this year. Even Hollywood always used to subordinate its liberalism to its greed. Now they make big budget bombs on purpose just to push the cause? There’s a lot of money out there to made for the next exec who remembers it’s called show BUSINESS.
