Does anybody care? I haven’t even noticed there is a writers strike, but then all I watch on TV are sports, news, and an occasional religious show.
To: Clint Williams
There is no writers strike on BBC America. Hooray!

When will the suffering end?! Yeah, it will be horrible that all these pompous overpaid egomaniacs won't be able to spout off how evil Bush is when they accept their award.

Is that why we don't have "24"?

I go you one better — I don’t even watch TV.
To: Clint Williams
Well, imagine that.
I’ve been boycotting cultural-elites-giving-awards-to-themselves shows of ALL types for years.
The last one I tuned in for had the hideously over-rated, poseur Marlon Brando sending a squaw up to accept his trinket (ca 1972).

As if anyone would have noticed. It's kind of like the Philosophers' strike in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

The writers will be back - unfortnately - when they realize their jobs are in peril and that their strike was a symbol of their idiocy.

Much of the suffering ended when they went on strike.

Hollywood actors will not take part in this month's Golden Globe Awards in a show of support...Hey, this is a REAL sacrifice. No goody bags for them.
To: Clint Williams
Gay men across the country are in mourning. No red carpet fashion show.
If the Oscars get boycotted, expect to see riots in West Hollywood.

poseur Marlon Brando sending a squaw up to accept his trinket (ca 1972). "Sacheen Littlefeather". She was actually Filipino.

hoooh boy...now the stylists, tanning salons, and jewelry stores are going to be ticked.

I predict the writers will be back at work soon—celebs can’t live long without patting themselves on the back with “awards” shows. ;)
