The Dixie Chicks are partners in name only - the multi-platinum- selling trio is all but broken up, according to a source close to the group.
Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison made just a handful of appearances together in 2007 - and now they rarely even talk, the source reveals.
"The girls have gone their separate ways," the source close to the Texas-raised country musicians told The ENQUIRER.
"They were not getting along when they toured together during 2006, but they managed to stay civil. Now when they're not forced to be together, the girls don't even stay in touch."
In 2007, the trio - who weathered a tsunami of criticism after Natalie bashed President Bush in 2003 over Iraq - appeared together at the Grammy Awards in February, taking home five Grammys.

LOL! That was wrong.
But dang funny!
National Enquirer is right 5 times every year.
Let this be one of them.
.
But they didn't, and that says a lot about their moral fiber.
They’ve cut and run from the quagmire that is their entertainment career as a “group”.
Wasn’t the original group a different set of Texas housewives?
So they believe that our troops should cut and run but they have moral fiber because they refused to cut her out of the changing lineup of the band?
I’m unaware of death threats lobbed at the Dixie Chicks. All such threats should be investigated.
I know that the operator of the Little Green Footballs website received a death threat that was traced back to Reuters’ offices. Never heard about the prosecution in that case.
How else are we supposed to keep up with the news on Bigfoot's love life?
Country artists are out there. Commercial radio wants no part of Johnny “Whiskey River” Bush or Billy Joe Shaver or Wayne Hancock.
Michael Medved claims to have seen Bigfoot once. Then again he also claims to have seen ghosts on a civl war battlefield.
Loyalty. There’s nothing more important. It’s the ultimate family value. Without it, both from you and towards you, you dont have a family, you have relatives. You dont have friends, you have acquantances.
I’ll forever disrespect Natalie for giving the country her venom when we needed solidarity, and forever respect the sisters for sticking by her inspite of how much damage it inflicted on them, over something they werent guilty of. They were the mirror image of Natalie; Their loyalty towards her only highlighted her disloyalty to her country in a time of war.
There’s a documentary about Shaver’s life called ‘A Portrait Of Billy Joe’ that came out a few years ago that’s really great viewing if you’re a fan, in case you havent seen it.
I really wish country radio would make a little room for the real artists in the genre. I get a little sick of slick pop with a drawl, you know?
BTW, has anybody seen Linda Ronstadt?
But that can’t be! VH1 said that they were back and better than ever with their “Not Ready to Make Nice” tour. And how concert goers were flocking to their tours! And the CDs were practically flying out of the stores! And when Interviewed in Playboy, they were the most important thing to happen to the First Amendment since... Well, since the Declaration of Independence!

Your logic escapes me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the firestorm began when the oinker made the comments on foreign soil, and the Entertainment Weekly cover didn't help matters. You can mewl about loyalty and family and try to rewrite their history all you please, but there's also such a thing as not taking a dump on your Country either.
“the 2 sisters are bluegrass musicians thru and thru.”
They are good musicians. They should probably start a small bluegrass band and enjoy life again.
Maybe the Dixie Chicks “Dixie Chicked” their careers using the Dixie Chick po 50% of your market plan.
The Dixie Chicks are suffering their own, self-inflicted fate. Entertainers can not and should not insult the people who put the money in their pockets. I will not miss them; they insulted me and my country. As an aside, I might add that that lead singer, Natalie Maines, must be quite a stupid person, indeed.
