GRAND RAPIDS - A kitten used at least one of its nine lives when it rode in the engine area of a semi-truck from Livonia to Grand Rapids.
Jeff Mills, a shuttle driver for S. Abraham and Sons, left Livonia on his regular run December 30. He left around 9 p.m. and reached Grand Rapids before 1 a.m.
Once he arrived, he stopped for fuel and an oil check, and the mechanic noticed a kitten curled up in the engine compartment.
Mills, who recently lost his pet cat, immediately adopted his new friend.
Transportation Manager Jeanne Rogers, who submitted the pictures, said everyone at the company is trying to come up with a name for the kitten, but they're not even sure if the kitten is a boy or a girl.
24 Hour News 8 contacted Mills, who decided to name the kitten Ryder.
24 Hour News 8 will have more information later in the day.

For your list?

I took a chicken for a ride in the bumper of a 74 F150 once.
MrEdd loves happy kitty stories :)
“Mills, who recently lost his pet cat, immediately adopted his new friend.”
If that’s not a sign from that God guy I don’t know what is.
Blessings to both of them.
Thanks for this posting, happiness ... :)
I had a landlord, life-long bachelor (deceased), that had a few dozen laying hens. He would feed them dried whole corn, ON the cob! Their beaks would wear down due to that and their age. When one would be found dead in the coop, he would lay it on top of the trunk lid for his daily drive to the local cafe (about 7 miles). It would blow off along the way, providing sustanance for the buzzards and coyotes in our neighborhood.
One morning he awoke to find one of his farm geese had died. He was sure it was not sick, just old. So he dressed it out, and gave it to his 80 plus yr old widowed aunt for a Christmas goose. She told him, weeks later, that other than being a little tough, it was alright.
I could write a book on the the man. I haven’t even mentioned the most hilarious things I witnessed.
My husband had a cat that did this often. One day, he drove to the local Perkins restaurant about 10 miles from his home and when he sat down to eat, he saw RZ in the parking lot. He went out and realized that the cat had rode in the engine compartment all the way to the restaurant. After that, he made sure he knew where RZ was located before he went anywhere.
That was my first thought too -- God saw that there was an empty spot in that guy's heart, and sent a kitty to fill it. :-)
My cats are strictly inside cats, so I miss out these adventures.
Anyway, he grew up to be a beautiful boy, very friendly if a little neurotic...we just lost him unexpectedly a few weeks ago, he was only 11. :(
I'm sure Ryder will be a great buddy for this trucker, they were obviously meant for each other!
My boss had a state car and one day when she went to leave, she ground up a cat when she started the car. At the time, Exxon had those tiger tails for Putting a Tiger in Your Tank. We got one of those and closed the hood on it. She yelled about it for 2-3 days. All in all, funny stuff.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!
What a darling baby! :o)
Me too! *whew!*
