Atonement is a beautiful movie. But I was rooting for Kite Runner to win Foreign Language movie, although I realized that the Afghani author considered Bush his friend and Carter a weak president, so it’s very unlikely that the liberal Hollywood Press would give him any award.

The book was good. Kind of a freaky ending.

It was certainly the best movie I saw in 2007, and it was terrific.

Your tagline is from one of my favorite films of all time.

I’m glad that somebody recognizes it. It is also my favorite movie, and the dialog captures liberals’ attitude very well!

ATONEMENT is also Michael Medved’s best movie of 2007.

Yes. It's a fascinating story well told. Cinematography is terrific and casting is spot on. It helps to have read the book - some of the time lapse sequences could get confusing.

If you go to see it without having read the book, just remember that there are often several different perspectives on the same event.

Medved was totally wrong about Bug. It was one of last year’s best films.
