OJ Simpson slammed by judge in US

An infuriated judge doubled OJ Simpson's bail in an armed robbery case after he breached a court order by attempting to contact a co-defendant.

OJ Simpson in court after breaching a court order

The disgraced former sports star, who was jailed in Las Vegas on Friday after the breach came to light, was ordered to post bail of $250,000 (£120,000) and put his Florida home up as additional surety.

Judge Jackie Glass told the ex-footballer he would not be released until 15 per cent of the new bail had been raised and she had legal papers to prove he had put his home up as security.

She ruled Simpson, 60, had violated the terms of bail set in November at $125,000 by leaving a profanity-strewn telephone message with his bail bondsman for one of his co-defendants.

Judge Jackie Glass warned Simpson he would go to jail for future violations

Ms Glass accused Simpson of "arrogance or ignorance".

"I don't know what the heck you were thinking Mr Simpson, or maybe that's just the problem - you weren't thinking," the judge said.

"I don't know if it's just arrogance or ignorance but you’ve been locked up since Friday because of arrogance or ignorance, or both."

She also warned Simpson any future violations would result in his bail being permanently revoked.

Simpson was bailed after his alleged involvement in an armed robbery

"Let me make sure that you understand that if you violate those rules and anything like this happens in future it won't matter what (defence lawyers) tell me you'll be back locked up," the judge said.

Simpson's lawyer said he was "truly contrite about what has occurred".

The former sports icon, who was famously acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, is due to go on trial in April for a confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel last September in which he allegedly robbed two sports memorabilia dealers.

He is expected to face court in April over the robbery

With two associates, he faces 12 charges relating to the alleged robbery and could be jailed for life if convicted.

Simpson has pleaded not guilty.

The rest of us do!!!!

LOL.

I guess my point is / was that this is just all over CNN/ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX....YBS....it's just sick.....it is not news worthy.

What it is...is...nothing more than crap on a nut job that should have been in jail a long time ago.

I want to see his a$$ in jail, too. Where it belongs.

We used to have several judges here that would have slapped the sh!t out of Mr. Celeb - and thrown away the key. Those days are gone......

OJ was witness-tampering, a violation of his terms of release. In “Nevada, bribing or intimidating a witness to influence testimony is a Class C felony punishable by one to five years in prison.” I think OJ needed some wake up before he gets some whoop@ss.

The funny thing is, if he shows up in court with the money coming from himself, the Goldman’s can take the money. He has to get the money from a third party (according to Nancy Grace)

You have to have better judges in Las Vegas than what they had in Los Angles!! Anything is better than Judge Ito! That guy was a looser!

I am also hopping that the Jury pool has a better gene pool in Las Vegas!

Alas, all bets are off....

Half of Califungus has moved here since the original OJ event.......

Man, I like this judge. OJ is finding out that he’s not in California anymore. As Marko Ramius said, “Today the game is different”. I’ll be watching this case.

I didn't know armed robbery can bring possible life imprisonment. Is this a Nevada thing?
